Is the name traditionally supposed to begin with 'Sir....'?

After seeing the movie GLADIATOR with Russell Crowe I always wanted a Black or smokey colored Great Dane to call MAXIMUS!
but I don't have a big anough yard so I won't get one :)

No the name isn't traditionally suppose to begin with sir.

As for names there are many..everything from made up names to people names. There is no one best name.

It doesn't really matter. I suppose traditional any male dog could have 'sir' in front of it's name but, it isn't really set in stone.
Some names could be: Tiny, Shrimp, Sir Lancealot, etc..

and for akc naming many males dogs names do begin with sir likkee
sir maggie black.
and you would call the dog maggie
