Our office is like the big brother house, well was, there are 6 women and one male.

The manager from the head office (female) told the male, who is a new recruit (too much like BB now!) that he needs to hold tight to his balls cos we will have him for breakfast and not take any rubbish

Is THAT a good thing to be an alpha female?

Our office is small, so a sense of humour does help, there will be no case of sexual discrimition at all, its good a manager can have a laugh!

Alpha females mean they are the head of the group. Basically, the ones in charge. I'd rather be the alpha female than not. Consider it a compliment!

she needs to be strong and assertive, and have a sense of humour in her position. however, in that case, telling a male recruit to hold tight to his balls is stepping over a boundary. she went too far. also, such a statement could be considered sexual harrasssment.just think if a male boss said that type of thing to a woman. i'd want to leave immediately if a male boss acted like a chauvinist.
she's acting like a chauvinist but a female one.
alpha is the dominant person in a group. however, she's seriously overstepping her role as manager and being a bully, a chauvinist and making sexual harrassing statements.
when that sort of thing happens, a person will quickly loose peoples' respect and loose their alpha status, whether they stay manager or not.
manager is a job title. it doesn't necessarily mean you really are the one in charge. other people behind the scenes could be, someone else in the office could be the true alpha female.
there is a difference between the manager title, and being the alpha.
regardless, she's going to find herself getting reported soon i bet for those kind of sexual statements. people only take those for so long before they do something about it.
the rest of you ought to stand up for the guy in your office.
he's on your team.

Alpha Female is a term used to denote the highest ranking female member of a mammalian group. This terminology is normally utilised to describe social hierarchy in extra- social and high intelligence animals, eg. Wolfs, Gorilla's/great apes, Toothed wales such as dolphins/killer whales and also lions, hunting dogs and any other permanent family/group based mammals. The standard structure would be an Alpha male and female each with a "Beta" second in command of their gender... at the lowest level is a single creature of either gender known as the "Omega".

Despite the Zoological nature of the construct it translates to human social/professional groups very well. With regards your office id say the task of a leader is to motivate and facilitate... telling a colleague to hang onto their genitalia is degrading and vulgar and runs contrary to good management technique. An Alpha leads... and only utilises threats and chastisement to uphold the chain of command and feeding privileges when they absolutely have to (rarely), normally the Beta pair are the enforcers and direct "work floor management". Your manager sounds like a Beta enforcer... No Alpha would lower themselves to showing the newb around.

In this case, an alpha female is a woman who doesn't think that a man should be the boss just because he is male. In other words, an alpha female is one who respects herself and doesn't need a man to feel complete.

A female who knows exactly how to put the alpha male (boss) in his place. Never made a complaint about sexual harassment, didn't need to. One try was enough, they didn't come back for more.

Alpha female is the leader of the pack

As 'Alpha male is the type of man who appeals to the majority of women as a potential father to their children...yes a sort of leader of the pack...so Alpha woman is the equivalent female...the gorgeous woman that all men can't help but ogle and wish they could make babies with. She does not have to necessarily be dominant.
Best wishes, Mike.

There are 2 aspects to the Lifeforce we understand as Masculine and Feminine. One flowing from the Source of Life out, and the other flowing back to the Source. Our spirits are made of both, and can use both. Going to extremes either way is NOT a Good Thing.

Sorry, it's one thing to be assertive and another thing entirely to be aggressive. Unless he was out of line on something, the manager's warning was inappropriate and he could have a case for her (or your office group) making it a hostile working environment (reverse sexual discrimination.)
