I want to get a small dog, but I'll be moving into an apartment in a year, so what would be the best dog to train to go the bathroom in a litter box? And has anyone tried this before and been successful?

I've known people who've done it. It seems like Yorkies do ok with it. They're pretty smart. If you go to a Petsmart, ask one of their training instructors for some advice.

Yes you can train a dog to use the litter box. Small dogs are the best for this. I have not tried this because I have big dogs, but I know people who have trained their dogs to use the litter box. I know a few people who have had success with a Yorkie.

All dogs can be trained to use a litter box. The bigger the dog the larger the box. You shouldn't have a problem. All the best;^)

A shitzu is a pleaser to the owner but once set in her ways than you can't change her habits very easy.
If you get her as a baby then you can most likely train her in a large size litter box for dogs (which they make)

I heard of cases that do work but i tried it with mine and well it didn't work.he just thought it was food the best way is to potty train it to go outside.but you can teach just about any dog.like someone else said the bigger the dog the bigger the litter box.good luck.

My husband says chihuahuas can be trained to use a litter box. I was going to say any breed that says meow regularly.

No littler box, but you can paper train by putting paper down in the same spot every day and teach him to potty there. Then you just have to wrap the paper up and throw away.

i think you have your animals mixed up.
cats go in litter boxes.
would it kill u just to walk out of the apartment and let it go outside like it is suppossed to?
