My father brought me here when I was 8 and I am now 18 yrs old, I never obtained a temp residency nor did I become an US citizen. My father is a french citizen and so am I. My father is now incarcerated and will be deported after time served. I want to return to France however my passport expired over 10 yrs ago. What can I do to get home? I have no paper work (such as birth cert, national id etc.) all I have is my passport.

If you visit your friendly INS office that is closest to you they will take good care of you.

I'm not fully sure but I believe that returning to your country isn't going to be a problem. If you're here ilegally the United States government isn't going to stop you from returning to your country, however they will warn you that you can't no longer return to the states unless you are legal. The problem will be that in case you want to return to the states later on and apply for a visa it will be more difficult due to the record they will have that your visa had expired and you lived here ilegally for 10 years. Go to the French Embassy. Bring your expired passport. It's the only I. D. you have.

Call the French Embassy. YOu should be able to get a birth certificate, somehow.

Write to the french consulate here in the US, or go to the office of immigration, and they will help you.
