ALL CLAIMS OF JESUS DERIVE FROM HEARSAY ACCOUNTS

No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay

The Bible does give evidence. The Old Testament, which was written 100's of years prior to JESUS' birth, does predict HIS birth and death very accurately. Here is a SHORT list of predictions from the Old Testament coupled with the New Testament fulfilment.

1. Born in Bethlehem Micah 5:2 Matthew 2:1
2. Born of a virgin Isaiah 7:14 Matthew 1:18-23
3. Of David's lineage Jeremiah 23:5 Revelation 22:16
4. Attempted murder by Herod Jeremiah 31:15 Matthew 2:16-18
5. Betrayal by a friend Psalms 41:9 John 13:18, 19, 26
6. Sold for 30 silver coins Zechariah 11:12 Matthew 26:14-16
7. Crucified Zechariah 12:10 John 19:16-18, 37
8. Lots cast for His clothes Psalms 22:18 Matthew 27:35
9. No bones broken Psalms 34:20; Exodus 12:46 John 19:31-36
10. Buried in rich man's tomb Isaiah 53:9 Matthew 27:57-60
11. Year, day, hour of His death Daniel 9:26, 27; Exodus 12:6 Matthew 27:45-50
12. Raised the third day Hosea 6:2 Acts 10:38-40

Yes.

I am in near total agreement of your belief system except that everything came from something and this universe has laws and a planned design. Some call that God. And the scientific explanation still only shows the aftermath but still doesn't explain how it can even come to be in the first place. Until something better comes along I stick with some unknown entity that allowed this whole contraption called the universe to come into being.

However I do NOT believe in this overseeing father/mother figure who meddles in or even cares about lowly human affairs. Whatever the "Source of Creation" is, it's not benevolent or personal. All I have to do is observe the world for a while and i can see this. So I guess if you have to label me I guess I am an Atheistic Deist. But I'll leave the labelling to others.

I don't believe that THE Jesus lived either. I've read that there were many similar types running around in the period and the original Hebrew name for 'Jesus' was about as common a name as "John" is today. Certainly don't believe in this Son of God stuff but I guess that was explained by proxy in my first paragraph.

However I see the need for religion in the world and why people cling so tightly to it. This world frankly sucks and is very dangerous. Humans are frail weak creatures when you get down to it so many people need this to be able to venture forth another day. Religion is one of many things that fill the void. I like it when religion brings out the compassionate qualities we savage human animals need to get more in touch with to become better more advanced beings (will never happen but that's a tale for another story).

And this is why I say Atheists have more in common with Jesus whether you believe him to be real or metaphorical or even absolutely fake. They don't need a written reason to practice socially beneficial behaviors and don't really seek any forthright reward other than knowing they helped somebody which brings its own pleasure boosts. They stand against the conventional thinking of the time making people uncomfortable as they challenge rotely-spoken belief systems. This in turn forcing people to consider the flaws of their beliefs which cause the flight or fight response.

Many people openly subscribing to a religious belief system do anything but practice the core of what that belief system calls for. They get caught up in the bureaucracy of it all and forget about the foundational reason the religion is supposed to exist. Some get caught up in assigning people as hellbound or heavenbound—who's sinned, who hasn't and which is worse, some worry about the rituals and fashions of the church institution, some worship the religion instead of supposed source of the religion, some misapply the religion for the wrong deeds.

Atheists rejected all of these types of things and it causes friction with those who get too caught up in their belief systems and practices. It sounds just like the story of Jesus to me.

When an atheist does good that atheist does it just for the sake of doing good and nothing more. He's/she's not trying to win heaven points. That person is just doing it straight from the heart. Which is how it SHOULD be done.

There are some atheists who have become just like the judgmental religious types trying to convert people to their belief systems also. Stuff for ironic comedy pieces just waiting to be written. But as for the question I DO feel that atheists are actually more in touch with "Jesus Christ" than the purported "Christians" claim to be.

Why do I need a building to do good by somebody and why in the world do I have to pay money to this building when that money can be better put to use in help of another?

no longer probable. Atheism isn't a default state. The default state that a newborn is born in is neither theist or atheist. i do no longer even think of we've a word for it (lack of expertise is in all probability the main precise word. All infants are born ignorant), agnostic is incorrect besides because of the fact it extremely is a theory that the existence of Gods can't be prevalent. a guy or woman can't replace right into a theist or atheist until eventually while they have encountered the assumption of Gods and are not from now on able to lack of expertise with regard to the mere theory and can now kind own ideals on the subject. Edit: in fact ignorant could desire to in all probability accurately describe what a Christian could be if God truthfully did no longer exist. they could be a theist (because of the fact they have faith in Gods) who's blind to the subject that their God does not exist.

#1. The change that Jesus came to institute was for the further glory of God.
Atheists do not believe in God.

#2.Jesus was accused of blasphemy for preaching the beginning of the world being under grace instead of the law to further the glory of God.
Atheists do not believe in God.

#3. The religious leaders of the time hated Jesus because He preached the kingdom of God instead of glorifying the religious leaders.
As much as atheists would like to promote the "pity me because everyone hates me" agenda, Christians are the most hated religious group. What 'survey' would you be referring to? Never, ever heard of it.
Christians try to spread the good news of Jesus' love, and are still hated.

#4. What they accused Jesus of was claiming to be equal to God, and the Son of God, which He was.
Atheists do not believe in God.

So no, atheists have nothing in common with Jesus, except being created in the image of God, whom they do not believe in.

Where do you get your survey information from? I don't think atheists are the most hated group.
Real Christians aren't threatened by atheists.
It's your decision whether or not to believe, to embrace or reject.
What Christians object to is when you call their faith a crutch or call them unintelligent or that they can't think for themselves or embrace something they were brainwashed or indoctrinated by. It's not enough that you don't believe in a God, but you ridicule those who do.
When you ask a question and we answer, (as one is wont to do when asked a question) the discussion often gets reduced to insults and there is no real discourse.
In my personal experience, atheists ask questions like this to incite rather than to seek intelligent discussion esp because they equate faith with ignorance.

Jesus never existed???
Are you as stupid as you look? Maybe so.
There is more documentation on Jesus than any other subject ever written about.
Maybe you don't exist and you are really just a poser-and a real bad one.
Man you are stupid. I think you could be the classic example of why blacks can't.............................. (fill in the blank). Maybe you are not really black. Maybe you are a real stupid white person posing as a black in order to make blacks look bad.

I think that the man Jesus most certainly lived. He indeed had much more in common with atheists than he does with the majority of his followers. I have no doubt he would shake his head at the ignorance of the fundies.

Jesus existed
Yes Jesus seems to have a lot in common with atheists
he didn't tell people there was a god
His disciples made that part up and put it in the bible to make him seem more saintly

Why do all Christians presume that Atheists don't think that Jesus existed? Atheists know he existed, they just don't believe in G-d. why is that so hard to understand? This goes back to my premise that Christians are closed minded.

The number one common denominator is eternal life which Jesus and Christians have and atheists, sadly, do not. So the answer is no
