My husband (aged 74) swears by Saw Palmetto which he takes in the form of "Prostate Plus" from the firm Zip Vit; his urologist has given them his blessing but isn't allowed to prescribe them!

The "spending for the general welfare" clause of Article I Section 8 is the justification for Congress being able to have a universal healthcare program -- and the goal of "promoting the general welfare" in the Preamble is one of the many justifications used by proponents of that plan. But, even having a mandatory universal health care system -- where everyone most pay into it -- doesn't guarantee that diseases won't spread -- so, national security really isn't an issue in the debate. Personally, I object to any mandatory program by the govt -- even mandatory universal health care -- because there is nothing that requires anyone to actually use it, and if they don't use it, it's one more thing they're paying for and getting no benefit from.

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and I don't believe in orthodox medicine anymore they have a nasty habit of making things worse. urinary problems can be cured and even prevented by taking garlic capsules every and drinking at least 2 litres of water a day 3 litres if you have this problem and also plenty of cranberry juice , this helps to stop the bacteria from sticking to the bladder and kidney walls.Dandelion tea is great to for flushing out the system The Dr's dish out antibiotics as if they were sweets all they do is damage the immune system so that you are prone to everything going

This is a question you need to ask of the provider who prescribed it. If you are not comfortable with your provider you need to go to someone else. When considering taking a medication, it is important to make an informed decision. But in making that decision there is more to consider than possible side effects. Consider also why the med was ordered. Also, what happens if you don't take it. Does it affect quality of your life? Ect.

This medicine may cause dizziness, light-headedness and on rare occasions fainting. This medicine does not cause prostate cancer, but prostate cancer can be another cause of an enlarged prostate gland. For this reason, tests for prostate cancer should be carried out before you start treatment with this medicine, and at regular intervals thereafter. One test that can be carried out is a digital rectal examination (DRE). The other is to measure the level of prostate specific antigen (PSA) in the blood.

If you are scheduled to have eye surgery for cataracts it is important to let your eye specialist know if you are or have been taking this medicine. This is because tamsulosin can make your pupil dilate poorly and the iris (the coloured circular part of the eye) become floppy during the procedure. The specialist needs to know if you have been taking this medicine so they can take appropriate precautions with the medicines and techniques they use during the surgery. You may be asked to stop taking this medicine for a period of time before cataract surgery. Check with your doctor.

You need to try the pills. There is not much you can do all natural for BPH except try saw palmetto. As for the side effects you should have gotten a leaflet with the pills listing the side effects and your pharmacist should have told you about the med when he gave it to you.
