ok well im guessing u want to put 2 speakers to 1 channel its very simple u need to do it in a series...NOT PARALEL ok speaker 1 attach a wire that goes to speaker 2

Speaker 1 Positive - to - speaker 2 negative

then the positive from your amp goes to the posotive on speaker 2 and the negative goes to negative on speaker one
this will make the system work as if it was on speaker this is the only way to acheive the best sound other then that u got to get an amp with more outputs hope it works 4 ya

If you are wanting to go past the basic stereo/home theater setup, you need to head to the local bookstore and buy a book about the topics you listed.

The answers to your questions are vast and complicated, much more information out there to read up.

Get a Stereo Review magazine to start your search. A few bucks to see if you really want to learn the nuts and bolts of speaker functionality/performance.

Unless you are willing to take a course in passive filter design (along with all the electrical engineering prerequisites), you are better off finding a design already made. Use google to search for "crossover filter design" and you will probably find many.
