Why did the news talk about Paris Hilton all day when U.S. troops are dying in Iraq?

No news about the troops. All about Hilton. Why?What's wrong with America?

Because when it comes down to it the news programs need to get ratings and when deciding between repeating what amounts to the same thing everyday about the soldiers or running coverage of something else they are going to talk about something else.

This is really a two-part question. One, nobody should ever, no matter what, pay any attention to Paris Hilton. What's the point? What does she do? What has she ever done? Young people bemoan billionaires running the country and then hang on every word and action of some tart billionaire.

Two, we have to live our lives. We cannot just sit and watch 24-hour coverage of the troops in Iraq (or Afghanistan). Our men and women in the military do not expect us to think about them 24 hours a day. They expect us to give them what they need and keep them in our prayers. Feeling bad about living your life is just another trick by the guilt mongers who are trying to convince us that America has caused all the problems in the world.
