is anyone else tired of the fact that Y!A seems to delete questions willy nilly without actually examining the content first, just because someone reports it?
i keep getting my questions deleted, even though i have NOT violated the community guidelines, just because certain people don't like me (namely certain christians reporting every single atheist-related question in the religion and spirituality section).

Yes. YA personnel have poor critical thinking skills. They give you the option of appealing the removal, yet they ignore the appeals even when they contain documentation supporting the content. We're all at the mercy of the moods and opinions of others.

It is a lot easier for the monitors to just delete a question based on reports. I got an email once that I had given a bogus answer which got shosen best answer and that they were going to take the 10 points away. Of all things it was a question in the hair area and was about the proper way to apply hair color. I wrote back and said that my 35 years as a hairdresser gave me much more experience than the person making the complaint! You need to answer them and ask what is going on and why are you being singled out. Also you can go to the icon of people who are your worst critics and block them from being able to post and the block won't even let them see your question. Sounds like a very useful tool!

Its easier if the Mods don't have to think. Deleting what they don't or refuse to understand is easiest.
I had an answer deleted and it was not offensive. Just goes to show that the ModBots have no sense of humour and refuse to even understand other countries and cultures humour styles. Moderations here as ridiculous as the ebay forums. Genuine violations are often left for many hours while trolls seem to be able to get questions and answers deleted straight away. .

I just had a question deleted, but it didn't even make to the front page. It was in regards to Lincoln, Christianity, and race. I must have had too many buzz words or someting.
How can that not make the front page but "Who wants to kill Muslims" and "Am I the only one who hates Catholics" show up, lol?

Censorship is always a bad thing. Restricting thought, whether it's speech or in writing, is something totalitarian regimes have mastered. I'm not completely surprised it happens in some western societies, but I'm disappointed that here in the U.S., some people feel they need to protect us from ourselves. It'll eventually go away one day. Maybe.

long ago I once asked was masturbation a sin and it got deleted and I lost 12 points. But it's humorous as the question gets asked about 10 times a day without deletion.

I am a christian, and I've never asked them to delete one of your questions. I readily answer questions posted by atheists. The only ones I ever flag are the ones that are vulgar, and that falls under "Objectionable Speech". So if you aren't violating the guidelines go ahead and ask!

they do it all the time.
all it takes is for a few xians to disagree with it and call them "offensive" (anything non-jesus is offensive) and WHAM. the question or answer is deleted.
i'm on my 9th account now. xians hate people who present a non-xian point of view, and ahve my account flagged constantly.
