How can I minimize boredom in a 11 hour flight from Europe to US ?

Besides watching inflight movies, listening to music and sleeping, waking up going to the restroom (if so it can be called) and looking out the window to see a clown walking on the wing !?
Is there anything else you guys can reccomand ?

A book and several strong drinks.

Sleeping is always a good method. Take eye shades and ear plugs, either a sleeping pill or a couple of Dramamine (not the non-drowsy) and a book should knock you out.

Most flights to Europe are overnight, so sleeping is a very good way to pass the time. However I have found that watching movies on the trip back will work well too (since those flights are often all daytime). Most of the airlines have a couple of dozen movies to watch, 3-4 of them will get you home happy.

Bring a book, a magezine or two, but I doubt you'll need them. Take an allergy medicene or a sleeping aid soon after you take off, it will help. The flight will be over before you know it, and those inflight movies are not as bad as they sound! :-)

11 hours?

it is only 10 hours from istanbul to jfk airport.

i read, and if you have a good airline, like turkish air and they have one of the new jets, they have computer screens for each passenger where you can ply games and watch movies.

or do what i did on military flights, take some pills and sleep.

If you are into video games, try the Nintendo DS Lite. That will quickly wither away your 11 hours.

Take some cards if you are going with someone, if not get a personal video player or portable dvd player and watch some DVD's of your own choosing.
