How can I unjam by back liftgate door on my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

The back door is jammed, the window still opens, and it feels like the door isn't shut all the way but i wont open or close anymore. Any advice?

You'll have to crawl in the back cargo area, remove the inner tailgate trim panel and try to manually operate the lock mechanism levers to get it to open. Could be the lock is worn or was latched improperly or bolts loose or out of adjustment. Body shop might be able to fix it cheaper than a shop if you go that route.
