Yes, that's totally normal. Once you start dating a little longer and begin to be comfortable around each other it stops being weird. To start up a conversation, say something like, so how has your day been, or what'd you do today, or what'cha doin' this weekend? Anything that can get the conversation going. Be creative these are simply ideas. Good Luck! And Congrats on the new relationship =)

Totally normal. Ask how his day's been, if you're in the car ask or say something about the music on the stereo, or notice something out the window like "I didn't know that was there!" or "I love how the lights look at night". If you're at a restaurant mention how you love the food and ask how he likes his food. If you're in front of the TV, comment on the show. Think of talking to him like you're talking to your best friend. What would you say to him/her in an awkward silence?

Just a few thoughts.

That is normal,,, it has only been a week and you two are still getting to know each other. when the silence comes that is a good time to find out things about him, ask him a question that you don't know the answer to.... also9 you both are trying to find the right thing to say.

Absolutely normal.don't push the talking thing let it come at its own time.He is as nervous as you are and afraid to say something stupid.find what makes him laugh. In this case laughter may be the best conversation starter, might just break the ice

i have had the same problem...i think it is normall just try to find something that you to have in common or hobbies you have. you could even suggest doing something new with him, something both of you haven't done. you could also ask questions and see if you guys have anything in common or even see how different you are. I relle hope this helps!!!!
