We don't need contentment. When we are content, we are satisfied. The greatest things in life have not come from satisfaction. What we need is hope and happiness. We need hope for happiness. Without a hope for happiness, we feel that we don't want to spend the rest of our lives in misery, and would rather die than suffer it. That is where suicide comes from. So what we need is happiness and hope for happiness. Self-worth is also important so that you don't go on a frenzy to change yourself to be happy (e.g. anorexia). But self worth brings about happiness, so therefore happiness is the one main feeling. That is all.

Self worth must be top I think and the ability to accept ourselves for what we are and to forgive ourselves when we get it wrong. Guilt and fear are the biggest detriments to mental health.

Happiness (though I will accept that contentment is a pretty good substitute - happiness is pretty easy to hit, though so why struggle for substitutes, ne?)
