Id like to partition my hard drive, one half Ubuntu stuff, and the other half Windows XP stuff. When I start my computer, id like to choose between Ubuntu and Windows. How would I go about doing this?

With XP installed FIRST, install Ubuntu without replacing XP.

Ubuntu will set up the Boot Loader so you can choose the OS at power up.

For more info, google for: Ubuntu dual boot

I'm not sure if it works with Ubuntu but most OS's will automatically do this for you when it detects another OS already installed. I have only ever used Ubuntu off the CD loader and have never installed it. But Red Had would install its own Boot Loader that allowed you to select Linux or windows at the machine's startup. Just as long as Windows was already installed when you installed Red Hat.
Windows has its own Boot Loader that may be able to help you. You can edit this just by the Boot.ini file that is located in the local C drive.

first you need to reformat the hard drive to FAT 32 because NTFS will not support 2 OS's....and then you can install both operating systems on the computer and when you boot up it will give you the option which one to load.
