I'm a good one to answer. I'm old and a parent of 4 grown kids, the youngest is 50.
We like to have our own life and Independence. We don't want to 'bother' our kids and their families. We love them and want to visit and see them often, but live with them - no. I know all my kids would take me if if the need were to arise. My daughter came home for a short time after a bitter divorce, but we helped her get back on her feet and she moved on. One of my sons is a multimillionaire and they have no kids. We can visit with them for a week or two, but it's back home after that. I guess the best answer I can give is that us older adults grew up in a different world .and we feel comfortable in our world.

If they're modern, they probably want a life of their own. They've put in the time and the compromises required to raise children and now it's time for them to let loose and do all the things they wanted to do but couldn't. Be happy that they want to enjoy themselves and be independent.

Its the other way around since the kids have good jobs and get money of their own they don't care about their parents.Such is the modern world.
The kids soon forget the sacrifices made by the people who conceived them and raised them.

actually the parents are interested but their children are not interested to keep them. so for no further bad treatment with them they prefer to stay away from their children as at least they would get peaceful death.

Many just prefer not to be a burden on their "children." They have a sense of independence & pride. Nothing wrong with that. :)

Who the hell would like to be doing the "wild thing" and smoking weed in the home of their married children. For crissakes they have a sense of decency as old fashioned as they are.

It used to be necessary for older parents to rely on their adult children ... not so anymore. Why be a burden if you don't have to be?
