Some Jehovah's Witnesses become inactive because they feel unable to continue preaching or certain other Christian obligations for a few months or even years. These are not counted in any JW statistics, but they are considered "brothers" and "sisters" by active Witnesses. It seems bizarre and plainly unwarranted to even suggest that an inactive Witness must be alienated from God.
It may be noted also that Jehovah's Witnesses specifically use the term "disfellowshipping" because it relates to a former adherent's FELLOWSHIP with fellow human worshippers. Witnesses have never taught that one who is disfellowshipped from the Christian Congregation is necessarily alienated from God; in fact the disfellowshipped person must continue to pray to God in repentance.
Jehovah's Witnesses practice the Scriptural practice of disfellowshipping for unrepentance of such serious sins as fornication, drug abuse, stealing, and apostasy. Baptized Witnesses who join the military or publicly engage in worship with another religion are considered to have disassociated themselves from Jehovah's Witnesses.
Contrary to the misinformation of anti-Witnesses, it is quite possible to become inactive in the JW religion without becoming disfellowshipped. As long as one's lifestyle does not bring reproach upon the congregation, and as long as one does not advocate one's disagreements with the religion, the congregation has no interest in "investigating", exposing, and disfellowshipping an inactive former Jehovah's Witness.
For those who are disfellowshipped or disassociated, a primary goal is to shock the person into recognizing the serious of their wrong so that they rejoin the congregation in pure worship. Since the primary bonds that are broken involve friendship and spiritual fellowship, it is well understood that family bonds remain intact. Parents, siblings, and grown children of disfellowshipped and disassociated ones sometimes choose to limit what they may feel is discouraging or "bad association" but that is a personal decision and is not required by their religion.
Former Witnesses who are disfellowshipped or disassociated are typically treated in accord with the Scriptural pattern explained in these Scriptures:
(1 Corinthians 5:11-13) Quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man. ...Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.
(Titus 3:10) As for a man that promotes a sect, reject him after a first and a second admonition
(Romans 16:17) Now I exhort you, brothers, to keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them.
(2 Thessalonians 3:6) Now we are giving you orders, brothers, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, to withdraw from every brother walking disorderly and not according to the tradition you received from us.
(2 Thessalonians 3:14) But if anyone is not obedient to our word through this letter, keep this one marked, stop associating with him, that he may become ashamed.
(2 John 10) If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, never receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him.
(Matthew 18:17) If he does not listen to them, speak to the congregation. If he does not listen even to the congregation, let him be to you just as a man of the nations
Becoming baptized as a Jehovah's Witnesses is not a trivial step. At a minimum, a student must demonstrate months of regular meeting attendance and public ministry, then must himself express the desire to be baptized. The candidate then spends hours answering hundreds of bible questions wherein he expresses both a clear understanding and personal conviction regarding Jehovah's Witness teachings in at least three separate interviews with three different elders. The candidate must vocally agree to be baptized in front of hundreds or thousands of eyewitnesses, and must be publicly immersed in water. This is not a momentary emotional decision by an unreasoning child. Dedication as a Witness required hard work and determination at the time.

I was in the cult and now i'm out Danny Haszard has a life second to none as a born again Christian!
More on the false Watchtower cult.
Jehovah's Witnesses knocking?
10 Million EX Jehovah's Witnesses now.
There are now twice as many former Jehovah's Witnesses as there are active ones with 13,000 leaving everyday.
Who are Jehovah's Witnesses?
The central core dogma of the Watchtower is Jesus second coming (invisibly) in 1914 and is a lie.Jehovah's Witnesses are a spin-off of the man made Millerite movement of 1840.
A destructive cult of false teachings, that frequently result in spiritual and psychological abuse, as well as needless deaths (bogus blood transfusion ban).
Yes,you can 'check out anytime you want but you can never leave',because they can and will hold your family hostage.
The world has the Internet now,and there are tens of thousands of pages up from defrauded Jehovah's Witnesses like myself who have been abused by the Watchtower cult.
The Watchtower is a truly Orwellian world.

Just wondering if you are a JW. I doubt it because most have such detailed questions and answers.
I have been studying with Jehovahs Witnesses for a couple of years, but know I will not join the religion because I really can't accept that only one religion, any religion, can be the only right one. But I have learned many things that have been lifechanging, including enjoying the peaceful non violent nature, the hopeful messages, the feeling of security a close personal relationship with God has brought me. No one has formally asked me to join the church, but I know someday that will come, and I hope that when I say what I believe that I won't lose the friendship of the witnesses who have come to my home. I do know one thing for sure, I won't be missing God, because His presence in my life will not change. I will continue to study and learn my whole life, and I can thank the witnesses for helping me to learn how to cultivate that in myself.

i'm so extremely joyful you asked former Jehovah's Witnesses to respond to this question. in any different case, how would desire to you ever discover out why they left? There are some exciting solutions out of your non secular brothers and sisters - yet no longer one among them has arise with the plain. whilst i became a Jehovah's Witness, I additionally theory I had the authentic faith and there became no way i became ever going to pass away it. that is incredibly stupid, does no longer it, to pass away what you believed to be authentic that gave you peace of techniques. Neither did I pass away simply by fact i became immoral or somebody stumbled me or I basically did no longer prefer to stay as much as the Bible's intense standards. I wasn't mixing with worldly human beings, i did no longer take up smoking or eating. in reality, i became pioneering and that i became married to a pioneer. So why did I pass away? you could desire to understand that my mom and dad became Witnesses interior the 1930's, and that i knew no longer something different than what Jehovah's Witnesses believed. We have been all awaiting the top of 6,000 years of guy's life to end interior the fall of 1975 (i'm able to grant the Watchtower quotations in case you doubt me) and that meant Armageddon might come quickly after. My mom and dad believed they have been the era that could see the fulfilment of the top-time prophecies in Matthew 24 and that they may well be alive whilst the Millennial reign of Christ began. None human beings made any of this up. all of us believed what the Society advised us. guess what? This prophecy became fake - we are nevertheless waiting, 33 years later. simply by fact of this I left - fake prophecies approximately dates and predictions whilst 6,000 years of human life will end. Any peace of techniques I had became shattered when I realised the quantity to which I have been lie to. i'm now a born-returned Christian with a heavenly wish and that i compliment God that, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, he further me to a place of repentance and forgiveness. faith does not save. in basic terms Jesus Christ can try this.

I studied with jehovas witnesses for a only a small period of time. When they had brought me into there studies I was quite happy with the things I was learning.
Although I went into the studies already having my own Faith in what I have learned of God over the years, I came to find that jehovas witness are mislead into many things they believe. I felt that there were more misunderstandings than what I was actually learning. So I left.
No, I dont miss God because He is with me always.

I think they found God when they left the control of the Watchtower
If you doubt their control - just ask them questions that really challenge their teachings.

How does one miss God unless one chooses to close their heart to him. God is omnipresent everywhere for e.g
ps 139 (KJV)
7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
