I was told by my gf that I have codependency issues I tried the groups she recomended but they all use the 12 step program and I got the feeling that the issue there is about getting people to submit to God more than it is about people helping people. So I'm looking for something more scientific and a lot less "spiritual"
Thanks in advance.

Maybe instead of a group, you could go to a psychologist. They will help you work through your issues, using psychology instead of religion as the basis. Just make sure you find a good one that will really push you, and not one that just listens to you and says "How does that make you feel?" If your codependency stems from your family relationships, then a family counselor would be a good place to start.

Honestly there are very few compaired to how many AA/spiritual groups around... You may be able to find one by asking a local mental health provider for info. Also you can possibly find one on the interent if you look hard maybe not idk. I think codependency is a huge issue to battle and it does help to have supports so I suggest you do anything you can to find thouse supports that will be healthyest for you. This will probably also help you in the very least by looking to become less codependant. If you ever want to chat with me about problems just IM me at some point. Hope this helped somehow.
