State of spiritual war? The war of spirit in the United States, YES! Although America still has a large population of Christians, the non-Christian population is booming, ans with good reason. Christians are force-feeding it's theology and ideologies down the throat of anyone they come in contact with. Not everyone want so be "saved" as it's called. Look at what happened to the pagan culture in Europe, and the Native Americans here-- CONVERT OR BE WIPED OUT. It is one thing for a religious sect to constantly harass everyone they can about what they believe in, but every human being has the right to decide on what is real and what is not real for themselves. Convert or die is terrorism, plain and simple. If the faith I believe in happens to turn out to be wrong, then I am personally responsible for what happens to my spirit-- WHEN MY TIME COMES. It is not up to another person to make that decision for me. Because of this, and the corruption of the church from the inside out, Christianity is on the rapid downfall. Honestly, how often do you hear about a pagan high priest molesting little boys? Seldom, if ever. And you KNOW if it DID happen, Christian journalists would not pass up the oppertunity to have THAT on the front page of every newspaper across the country. I am not trying to be slanderous, but face it-- the times are changing, the Vatican doesn't control the world anymore, so if Christians want their faith to survive, they might want to be a bit more accepting of the rights of others.... (not saying ALL Christians are evangelistical, but a good majority of the ones I have come across are....)

Putting on the armour of God first and for most. Ephesians 6:13 KJV
(13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Each part of the armor is for a reason as well. Spiritual warfare is in almost all religions. Spiritual warfare would be to convince others to join your faith. For Christians the number one enemy is satan. He loves to deceive and imitate the church world when possible. His goaled is to deceive as many as possible for his own gain. Christians fight this battle by putting on the armor of God. Satan can not stand against Christians long term. What I mean is God will win in the end. Those that are in satan's army will find themselves on the loosing team.

Yes, since the time Adam and Eve committed the first sin. It is more ferocious now because the time of the final days are fast approaching and Satan has little time to do his damage like tempting more people, pitting man against man in a physical and psychological war, poverty, all atrocious acts like killings and rapes, etc. We are at the final stage of the battle between good and evil.

I am in the middle of this frightening war between God and the fallen angels led by Satan, the devil. Just as you are also in the midst of this battle. We are all being pulled in two opposite directions: to continue to do good or to stop doing evil. I am trying to live by God's word but no human being is perfect so, I accept I do fail at trying to live by God's principles. Have you? And yes, the final battle will be won in full glory by the Almighty God.

War is hell, but the struggle of the spirit is greater than war. It is a struggle for understanding and reconciliation and most of all, survival. We can use "war" as the real world metaphor for what goes on in the realm of spirituality, but many people would misinterpret that to mean that one ideology must win out over another through a process of long bloody struggle.

I wouldn't say that I live in a state of "war," but in a perpetual struggle against despair and those aspects of being I consider to be counterproductive to survival. One could call this "evil" that I struggle against, but in reality, it is a collection of weaknesses that beset Man by his very nature. The skirmishes go back and forth, while I attempt not to destroy or to allow destruction. Sun Tzu averred that it is better to leave a population intact and use its resources than to burn conquered lands in the prosecution of a war. Therefore, in application to answering questions on here, I truly believe that insulting questions and answers have the effect of burning bridges and losing the "war." That said, there are the super-sensitive who will be offended by everything, and those people will see war differently than I do; they may justify destruction in the name of an idea, not seeing how this destroys their cause ultimately.

To sum up, I think there are many arenas of spirituality wherein struggle is necessary, sometimes outright war (in the sense I have mentioned), but as I become older, I find a weariness of actual conflict, much as Frodo on his return journey from Mordor. But like Aragorn or Gandalf, I understand that sometimes war is unavoidable.

Yes, there is a spiritual war going on inside all of us. Our spirit fights daily with doing right or wrong, either with Man's laws or God's laws. It is my belief that Satan does all he can to shake and brake the very existence of your being. He would prefer that we all sin and make some really bad decisions. But with Christ on our side, we gain strength and knowledge of how to fight the spiritual war and God's Word (Bible) will give you all the Armour you need!

Man has fought his own sin and selfishness since Adam and Eve were driven from Paradise for letting sin and death into the world.
The war continues, even though Jesus won the Victory on the cross. When he said "It is finished", it was like the declaration of victory for the Allies in WW2, and yet there were still casualties.

Paul says in Ephesians 6 that we fight not against other people but against spiritual powers. Besides our Adversary Satan this can mean fighting against our own sin nature, or that of other people who are consenting to the power of sin in their lives, whether they be church-goers or not.

We *have* the Victory--it's a matter of time. The results for those who are under the banner of the Lord Jesus will be salvation and eternal life. He who endures to the end will be saved, whether it be the end of our physical life here on earth, or those who will be around at the End when Jesus returns.

I really don't think we are, any more than at any time in the past, that is. Maybe it's just that at the moment it's a bit closer to home than we've been accustomed to in the past.

Motives for actions go beyond religion alone - don't think it's so simple to be able to pin it down to just that. And I'm certain the UK will remain a Christian State with the monarch as Supreme Head of the Church of England and State for a long, long time to come.

And I'm an atheist, too - so I don't think we are anywhere near judgement, end times or anything else like that as I do not believe in such things. Won't knock people for it though - everyone entitled to their own beliefs and their faith. It's all about decency in life in that which we do, regardless of our religious associations, or lack of them.

Yes, there's always a fight in the natural as well as the spiritual..to change things
There are various ways to fight , prayer and meditation , obedience to His will and standing up for a worthy cause if that is what he asks of you....

The end result will be the restoration of all things for some lucky generation.....

Yes. Our enemy is Satan himself. His weapon is deception (lies). Thus far he's done a SUPERIOR job. This is why we have so many atheists, new agers, lie spreading, and materialistic, unfeeling, hateful people in our world. They've been willfully and wonderfully DECEIVED. He's even managed to infiltrate the "Christian" church. By doing so non believers can further en-strangle themselves when they point their fingers at luke warm so called "Christians" and say "see...I told you so". Ever seen a man struggle against a boa?

God will prevail. But there will be mass casualties on the side of the fallen. And this pains God. So we have to be careful to let no one deceive or confuse us. We should love God, fully. And love our neighbor as ourselves. Everything hangs on this. The Ten Commandments are a prime example.
