I would recommend something mild and over the counter such as Tylenol. You are already on a strong pain killer so you don't need too much more. If you are worried about drug interaction you can call any pharmacy and ask them .

Oxycodone is a powerful narcotic, specifically used to relieve severe pain.
If you are experiencing headaches, and this drug isn't helping, it's very likely you are having a harmless side-effect.
The other possibility is the "hangover effect", which occurs the day after taking Oxycodone. It can make you feel run down and prone to headaches.
You need to talk to the GP who prescribed the medication, voice your concern, and follow his professional advice. If the headaches are intolerable, or carry any risk, I'm sure he'll consider prescribing a similar, alternate drug.
Good Luck and Best Wishes!

Perhaps you could try taking half of your oxycodone pill & get enough relief for your post-op pain, & the lower dosage of it may prevent what may be the side effect headache. If you still have the headache, the oxycodone may have acetamiphen with it, & perhaps a couple of regular asprin along with the acetaminiphen (like exedren does) would work to ease the headache

I read that smelling peppermint oil can relieve headaches. After getting a splitting headache from Oxy, I tried it by eating 3tic tacs with 2 aspirins and 16 oz of water. Gone! Sure, 2 aspirins probably had something to do with it, as well as the water. But it worked better & faster than I thought it would.

I would take motrin or advil...don`t take tylenol as the oxycodone has aceteminophen in it...the motrin and advil are a non steroidal anti infamatory and don`t so they would be safe
