I actually agree with the statement. the most responsibility goes to the parents of course, but others have such influence on kids that we should all feel a responsibility towards them.

I'll go with parents too. I don't think that it takes a whole village nowadays. You have home schooling, and other things that give the parents the power to not allow their children to go out of doors. Yeah, I'm going with the parents; its their job to teach the kids to become responsible members of society. Unfortunately, most are failing.

I agree we are all responsible for the children whether it be directly or indirectly. Those brought the children in the world are most responsible, but the job also lies on the " village"

bullsh*t, that's a way for some one to shirk their responsibilities. The parents are responsible for their children and to their children, to ensure they are exposed to proper things, get good grades, are able to function in society, etc. etc. it isn't my job to watch what your kid does it's your job. and it isn't your job to monitor mine. I am not saying if you see a child in trouble you turn away but it isn't up to me to make sure your child doesn't smoke or drink etc.

I agree to some extent first the parents are responsible but then the child should respect all adults. to often today children do not even respect their parents.

In today's world it is the parents who are ultimately responsible for the children.
I have no children so why should I be responsible for someone elses, Please that is just wrong.

So be-careful who your neighbors are, because they will be teaching your child how to live & act by their example? Is that what we are saying?
