I wear my contacts as least as possible. I never sleep with them on. Usually at least one eye (the left and right switch on and off) is red and irritated and i ca't wear a contact in it. Eyedrops have not cured it and don't really help. I'll wait a day or two and the redness will go away but it will just come back later. Sometimes it's so bad I can hardly open my eye because it is so painful. I need toknow what it is and what can I do about it.

You really need to see your ophthalmologist and let them determine what the real problem is.

We could all guess anything from allergies to some type of irritation caused by an injury but that would just be a guess at best.

Your doctor can better determine what has happened and what is the best treatment. Please don't wait, your eyesight is far too precious to risk.

You may be allergic to the lens care solutions that you are using. You may need to switch to a different kind. You could also be allergic to the material that your contacts are made out of. Contacts are made out of different materials, so you could change to a different contact brand. Either way, you need to check with your eye doctor and see what he thinks and what he suggests you do.
