Why is commiting sex so much more important than murder to christians?

In all of it's history christianity has gladly approved of and engaged in activities that killed humdreds of millions of people, but it has never permitted of any sexual activity not approved through "marriage" even though this is one of the most common human activites and the christian prohibition of all sexual activities are violated wholesale.

First of all not everyone that says Lord, Lord are Christians, but simply because they take the name of Jesus all Christians are blamed for their murders.
All sin works death that includes all sexual activities outside of marriage, and all of the other sins including murder. Consider this if sex were kept inside of marriage between one man and one woman, then virtually all sexually transmitted diseases would not exist including aides. It is not a matter of hating people it is a matter of trying to protect people from disease and death.

mder not approved through the will of god is frowned upon, and the belief during an epoch in, say, the 1800s is not actually the refletcion of a christian beleif, its just a means used to justify it. In all honsety christianity encourages people to have sex. They dind't want promiscuity for the same reason they dind't people to eat pork. Pig harbors parasites, and multiple sexual partners may lead to STDs.

The whole thing about abstinence before marriage is taken from the Bible. God knew what He was talking about... there are SOOOO many health and emotional risks to premarital sex... God's intentions are for the health and well-being of his people.

This question goes on my watch list. Great question albeit wrongly worded.

Here is my guest. Sex is very powerful. Most people view sex as some activity humans can do. They put it along the lines of playing games or drinking alcohol. Things that you do not need to do and are not important. This shows a lack of understanding of what sex is. Yes there is the physical/mechanical aspect of sex but, there is a lot more to it. Sex affects you psycologically. We are not beings that can also have sex. We are sexual beings. Sex is as important as eating. Is a human need as much as it is a want. You think is far fetch. Well, let me give an example.

Have you ever wonder how the vibrator came about. During the Victorian era sex was frown upon. Masturbation was a very very bad thing. I mean, jail time or insane asylum bad. During this particular period a new disease came about. Hysteria. Many women suffered from hysteria. Do, you know what causes hysteria? Lack of sex. Women where not allowed to masturbate. We are talking about single women. Men, well, I bet they did anyways. Anyways, some doctors discover that by massaging their patients these patietns would be relief from their dicease. Yes, it was manual message what we today would call fin-gerring. Funny eh! Ofcourse, back then it was not looked as a sexual thing but as a treatment. Well, the doctors where overwhelm by the amount of labor they had to do due to so many patients. Thus a clever person developed a machine that did the job for them. A vibrator. Back then they where big bulky machines, now with todays technology they come in all shapes and sizes. The point is that Hysteria no longer exist. Oh, and if you don't believe me look it up yourself.

Besides hysteria sex affects you in many other ways. Did you know that most people that rape or are sexually abusive where abused themselves? Most people with sexual disfunctions of these extreme nature where created at childhood. Something in their natural development interrupted the normal sex growth. Unfortunatelly many inocents pay the price.

Health wise sex is important. You can get six from sexual activity. That is venerial diseases like sifilis gonorea, hepatitis and aids to name a few. Most people look at this as "oh well, thats his/her problem. God is punishing them" This may be so for some people but today it is a big problem. For example aids is nothing to be taken lightly. Aids can literaly decimate whole nations. Imagine great minds like einstein's. Now imagine a world where einstein would have never live because one of its parent died of aids. OR simply because there aren't enough people around to have enough babies. People like martin luther king would had never been born. I think you get the idea.

A marry person can benefit or suffer greatly from sex. An unsatisfied sexual relation ship can end up in divorce or at the least very unhappy marriage. Plus there are those that get abused sexually by their spouse. Next time around watch your friends. Then observe your friend the next day after he/she had sex. Ofcourse this assumes that you know they had sex. Two very different people. The day after they are generally happier.

In normal circumstances sex can make you or break you. The reason we dress ourselves on the weekend is to get a mate or at the least attract the opposite sex (same sex for some). Even if we don't take someone home we all want to be wanted. Everybody hates being turn down. But why would this bother us if sex was not important? For example, a man ask a girl out on a date. If she accepts and the date went great then that builts the young mens self confident. If the girl turn him down he sufferes even if he hides it. Being turn down all the time can be devastating. Note how these people have a very dark outlook on life. Yes, it is sex related. If it was just for fun then it would be call friendship not dating. You go out with your friends you don't go on a date with your friend. Even if physical sex is not involve the psycological sex is.

On the same line of sex can make you or break you, what happens to a person that has been traumatized by sex. For example a date rape. They behave differently. They treat people differently when compared to someone that had a more normal sexual development. You still think sex is not important.

On the other hand players and promiscuous people also have some sexual disfunction. However, I think the problem lies somewhere else. Like trying to compensate for something else. I mean like they are afraid to commit or let themselves be love as one of the many reasons. They express this frustration through sex.

Talking about sexual disfunction, if sex was not important why are we so hush huch about male disfunction. I mean if we didn't care why would we shy away from it. This is because we do care. A man that cannot satisfy their women suffers greatly. He feels less of a man. This will be reflected in his outlook on life and his behavior. Now there are treatments for this kind of thing. People should not suffer because in their condition the word sex is attach to it. I mean, if it was migrane, heart condition or what not people would seek treatment. But because it is sex related somehow it should be treated differently.

To conclude I think that this lack of understanding of sex scares people. Sex is very powerful so it is easy to see that a person can easily be scare of it. I think this is why a lot of institutions shy away from it instead of trying to embrace it. There is hope however. Many Christians churches have now started to talk about sex. Ofcourse they keep it withing their rules. That is marriage. However, they are now opening up and saying, hey is ok, is natural and is Gods will. I think this will greatly help people to at least understand and deal with their frustrations.
