Religion lacks substance. It is based on belief not on proof. A person can believe in God, Angels, Jinn (Genie) but if he wants me to believe I would require scientific proof. Theists say you do not see Oxygen but you believe in it. Why not believe in God?
Oxygen can be measured through Physics, Chemistry but the existence of God cannot. I don't think God has an impact in our daily life.
Atheist don't have to prove the existence of God. They are not claiming it. You don't have prove something negative. A Theist who is religious has to prove the existence of God if he wants some one else to believe in it positively.
Can God cure Aids? No because the cure for Aids has not been invented yet.

There is nothing to prove that god isn't real. But then again there is nothing to prove that unicorns or pixies are not real either. The burden of proof doesn't fall on to the ones making no claims. The burden of proof, instead falls onto the ones making the claims. If I was in court and I claimed that somebody keyed my car or stole some money from me. The judge would ask me for evidence that the person I am accusing did key my car or stole my money. If I had no evidence the case would be over.
The same thing applies to religion. If your Mormon, Christian, Jewish, Islamic or even Buddhist, in the eyes of atheists, no "evidence" has been given to validate the existence of god.
The common slip up I hear from Christians is on the topic of creationism. They claim that something intelligent had to have created life because all the "puzzle pieces" fit together so well. In this claim they state to have intelligent life, something must have created it. Is their god not an intelligent life? If so, their claim would also have to apply to god. But they say no one created god. It's a catch 22.

Religion has become so diversified outwardly, that the underlying essence/ foundation has been totally neglected. And that is to be good & do good, to see everyone as part of one big family.. which all religions teach - and that would point to the one source from which thing originated, whatever name we call it by - be it god or anything else..
We physically don't see the oxygen that we breathe, but if there was no air , we would'nt survive - so what proof is there that god does'nt exist?? I am not an atheist either..

Atheism is not defined by beliefs. You can be an atheist without having any opinion about gods whatever. An atheist doesn't necessarily have any burden of proof.
Those who DO have beliefs should be prepared to defend them with proofs. The religious not only believe in gods, they usually believe in particular ones, and so they're obliged to show us how it is they know that their god exists in a way that can't be put down to lies and the tricks of dishonest men.

That a god, an omnipotent, all knowing, all seeing, all powerful being, creator of the heavens and the earth, needs a book written by men, full of errors and contradictions, to distribute his word. Think about it, it is totally nonsense. He is either not much of a god at all or he/she/it never existed in the first place. I believe the later. Man created god in his image, not the other way around.

The one thing about religion is that... IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GOD!!!! The truth is "religion" as it is today is nothing more than a large charade to drown out the real meaning of spirituality and replace it with a false hope that requires one to give large amounts of money to a "church" in exchange for deliverance. By the way... I'm not atheists

If everyone has faith in God, the most likely thing is that he doesn't exist.
If he did we wouldn't have faith.
If there is a God, he doens't care. But this is just putting God where he is not needed, in the universe.
Just as a unicorn, a spaghetti beast or an alien.

Nothing about religion "proves" that god/s are not real.
There is no objective evidence in support of the god hypothesis. Unless there is, atheism is the logically justifiable standpoint.

History teaches us that man invented God and gods. Common sense tells us that the concept of God or gods is impossible. There is absolutely no evidence for a God or gods.

IN the future it would help if you clarified which God you were referring to, there are many you know. You have Allah, Zeus, the god from the bible and many more. The one thing that would prove that god isn't real in lets say the bible is the hypocrisy from which he speaks. He commands thou shalt not kill and then commands the Jewish people to kill, go figure
