I think what you want to do is great. The men and women who put their lives on the line to protect their country are the most amazing people in the world. I'm sorry to tell you but you have to be a U.S citizen to join their armed forces. If you have a family member in the States or have an employer who would sponsor you, you would be able to join when your paperwork was complete. This takes several years but if your heart was set on it you could get the college degree you need to qualify for officer status in the meantime. Good luck and I hope this helps

in case you go with to be an officer contained in america Marine Corps the 1st element you may desire to do is to forget being enjoyed. you would be enjoyed by potential of the enlisted, or extra suitable respected by potential of them, once you have earned the honour on a private foundation that they are and that i replaced into required to furnish based on your rank. You take care of the enlisted particularly, hear to suggestion from the senior enlisted and the veterans, be honest and independent, assume not extra common time because of the fact you're an officer (do and stay as they do), artwork with them and make the innovations once you have information and enter and the enlisted will "like" you. I had some officers i did no longer in my opinion like interior the civilian meaning yet I had a great form of admire for and could stick to and serve with in any condition because of the fact they had earned my admire and my have faith; others have been advantageous human beings yet i could have hated to circulate into wrestle with them. do no longer subject approximately being enjoyed and subject/concern your self with earning the honour as a guy or woman and not the honour due based on your rank. Asking the question shows you're able to being a respected officer and chief of Marines..

You could become an officer in any branch of the service if you are capable and qualified. Being a Pinoy might make it a little more difficult but that just means you have to work harder. About coming to the U.S. after nursing school. Isn't some level of experience required beyond schooling? I lived in Cebu for 3 years and was a Marine - not an officer - long before that.

You can be an officer in the USMC if you are a citizen or naturalized citizen.

Edit: Those that are saying "no" are just plain wrong. Here's a article from the Marine Corps Times about a naturalized citizen in the officer training program:

Edit: There's a (somewhat) interesting book on being a lithuanian immigrant and marine by LtCol Dominik George Nargele USMC (Ret):

Yes you can become an officer in the USMC. You must finish a four year college degree and apply for officer candidate school or while in college see a recruiter and sign up for their officer training course. You will do boot camp between second and third year of college and then do an officer leadership course between third and fourth year. Upon graduation you will be commissioned and expected to serve for a minimum of 6 years.

You have to be a US citizen to be an officer. You can be either a US citizen or Green Card holder to be enlisted. The US Navy used to take a small number of Filipino citizens as enlisted but that ended in 1992 when the Philippines expelled the Americans and our bases.

if you become an american citizen, i believe so. My friend was born in mexico, is now an american citizen, and a marine... i don't see why there would be any difference with you.
