Depends on the state check with DMV they know the rules.
Suggestion get it inspected Any way if you just bought it. It is a safety inspection and will make sure what are driving is safe.

differnt states have diff rules...in NY if car is sold 5 times in a year,,,you get inspected 5 times...in VA wher i live now...sticker good for full year.

when you get it insured ask the lady or go to the icbc website
