I've read parts of Foxes Book of Martyrs (I read his account of all the disciples and of a few others, but not the whole book). It's fascinating on one hand but sad (even though the tragic stories happened so long ago) on the other. It gives me a sense of what life is like for my brothers and sisters who are suffering and dying for Christ even now and is a sobering reminder of what could happen to us here in the US someday as well.

Yes I have read Jesus Freaks and enjoyed it enough to buy and read Jesus Freaks Vol.2 . I know several people that have also read both,(Jesus Freak books). I'm a Christian so that would be logical. They are good , short uplifting stories about people confirming their faith, coming to faith and how The Lord has been evidenced in their lives. Similar to the "Chicken Soup" series but more faith based.

I've got Jesus Freaks. Pretty emotional stuff. Kinda makes me realise how lucky I am not to live in places where Christians are persecuted and it's also humbling because it made me think how much better Christians they are than me. Could I have acted with the kind of grace they did when they were being murdered for belief in Christ? Very sobering.

Yes. These truly inspire a person. I went so far as to purchase and hand out copies of Foxe's to the members of my old church.
VOM has a great book there, and it does come in useful also.
