First put a tablespoon of baking soda in there with a cup of water, shake it and hit every spot. Dump it out. Then Put a tablespoon of lemon juice in there with a cup of water, swish it around. Then rinse it out. Then your done. These were the instructions on my first bag, it has always worked for me. I still haven't figured out how to dry it, lol. But you can buy a thing that goes inside that helps dry it.

Squeeze it all out like a toothpaste tube, refill about 1/3 full with clean water and maybe 10% chlorine bleach and slosh it around in there for a few minutes. Empty, rinse, repeat as necessary to remove noticable bleach odor and taste. I store mine with clean water in it at all times and change the water every week or so. That in itself should keep it clean. Don't put anything but clean water in it if you can help it. No Gatorade or anything else that will promote bacterial growth.

Add a teaspoon of either bleach or white vinegar to a gallon of water, it will kill whatever is in there. I have no idea honestly how to get the water out. Chow

I just rinse it out with hot water and wash the mouth piece with soap. I try to get as much water out of it as I can and then I air it out to dry.
