Alright, Im going to be a grandfather, but still don't feel old enough to be called grandpa. I'm Italian and feel like a 20 yr old(no cheap shots on telling me to grow up). Any suggestion on what my grandchildren should call me. I'm Italian, I believe it is pronounced Nono in Italian, but not sure. My grandparents were from Calabria,Italy. Any suggestions.

thanks

i called all my grandads grandad then added their last name, i had two regular grandads and two great grandads this worked a treat for me, i only have one grandad so i just call him grandad now! my grandma makes me call here grannie and i hate it, she loves it and thats what counts. just pick something you feel comfortable with, grampa larry is quite personal and i think thats nice.

Well, most names may sound old. The "oompa" or whatever mentioned is a good example of an alternate name that may sound more in-line with your age.
Captain can be good and you use First Mate or Swabby etc. You have a lot of options, try to find names that may relate a hobby or activity you will do with the children.
Using Captain, if you intend to boat a lot with the children then this may be a good choice.

Hey, first congratulations!!!!!!
They are going to call you what ever comes from the parents, most likely something simple like Papa, Grandpa etc. It really won't be up to you. Of course you can try to get them to change, but hey, it is a good thing no mater what they call you as long as they love you.

Congrats to you:) That is wonderful... I will tell you from experience here that whatever name you would like them to call you isn't always what ends up :) My mom is a beautiful 50+ year old woman.. Looks 30, just gorgeous. She inherited the name 'Ga-Ga'. Who knows... Its just what my son has called her forever. And we never refered to her as that... Kids are a gift & a blessing... I think maybe he/she will name you a very special name all of his/ her own.... :)

P.S. My step dad is Pap-Pap, my father is Pap, my step-mom is Grap... Ha! Ha! See what I am saying? All named by one very awesome, special little guy. No matter what you will be called know it will be with lots of love :) Again congrats!
