p.s. I'm bringing my copy of Matthew Alper's "The God Part of the Brain." I was originally going to bring the Book of the Dead, but I was informed that one of my nephews will be christened after church, so I have to stay for that too, as well as the obligatory family dinner. I'd rather just go to the dinner, but a promise is a promise and since I'm going to be with them all day, I figured I'd do a little prosyletizing. Can't do that by offending people. You have to play nice. I figure once they see why other religions have spiritual experiences, from a rational standpoint, they may start to question if that's why they have theirs. Have a great day everyone!
Oh, yeah, almost forgot I need to ask a question. Okay, since I'm going to church today as agreed, even though I don't believe in god, and I'm sticking to my word, does that prove that atheists have morals that are not assigned to them by god through the bible?

Everybody has their own morals. It doesnt have to be related to the bible or even addressed by the bible, no matter who you are or what religion.

Well as much as I would like to say, "You need to wake up and see that God does exist, how can you look around this planet we are on and everything that is here and think it just developed?" I don't think because you are atheist you cannot have any morals. If you live a good life and try your best to be good and treat others the best you can you are showing some good morals in my opinion. Also just in my opinion if you started to accept God as your savior you would certainly be the best you could be. Not to steal a line from the Army or anything.

I don't think any sincere thinker would disagree that "atheists have morals that are not assigned to them by god through the bible." Of course atheists have morals, for goodness' sake. Some more than others, it's true....
For instance if I had lost the same bet that you did, my morals (Christianity aside) would have dictated that I do my level best to honor my part of the bargain. I would not have been the least bit half-hearted about it, either.
Cheers!

does that prove that atheists have morals that are not assigned to them by god through the bible? You can have morals not based on God. It's faith and trust in God.
You shouldn't have to win a bet in order to show your wife that you love her. Go because you want to be with her.
I should hold a bet for you that you will go to church based on the love you have for your wife. :)
And ps not sure if you got that angel story that I sent you but, I thought it was nice .
Have a good day!!

Well, quite obviously you are a person of your word, and that's a FINE "moral value" that has no direct relationship with church-going or religiosity.

consistent with possibility they think of a sparkling Earth isn't as beautiful sounding as an precis Heavenly seen at once being with God as quickly as we die, in view that we are with him now, and death can't seperate us. Heaven is a lots much less complicated swifter and extra imprecise clarification of death. Heaven has continually been an exceptionally precis theory, in view that no possible unquestionably understand what it incredibly is like as quickly as we die. i think of maximum church homes do carry forth and have self belief the bible and revelations which describe the recent Earth various situations. The outer messages no longer in church do look extra centred on "Heaven" than New Earth simply by fact it incredibly is far less complicated and swifter to describe the unknown with something extra unkown and consistent with possibility they think of it sounds extra beautiful. As for dozing or waiting until eventually the Resurrection, there are various expenditures that describe this as being like a blink of a watch, for time ceases to exist. The old worldwide would be consumed by making use of hearth simply by fact the fertilizer for the recent Earth. Any form of residing previous the life all of us understand may well be seen heaven with non secular bodies that can't die. The Earth being sinless would be one with heaven. To in basic terms carry forth "Heaven" is basically an precis theory that leads many to techniques of Halo's and Harps. it would be closer to describe heaven as a sparkling Eden. i in my view have self belief that as quickly as we die, we are with God no longer separated, as we are with him now, yet thoroughly with God, no longer waiting around a grave for Christ's return. as quickly as we die, time ceases, and we return with him in an on the spot or we glance forward to as we are alive, yet no longer from now on impatient as though we are waiting to die. yet another words, we wait patiently in peace with self belief and excitement.

It proves that you're a man of your word.
I'd pass on the idea of educating your wife's family, though. People learn only what they need to know, and that crowd already has all the answers.
Come home safe.

You are doing something good for your family. Enjoy that. Educating others is important but to live your belief is more important, proving things you already know to be true, is self glory.
