Thanks everyone for answering.
This is a different point of view on the life of the dogs we know & love. It's always enlightening to put ourselves in another's shoes...er, paws.
For sure, humans, who are responsible for domesticating them & rendering them dependent, should care for the dogs already in existence. But humans also need to ask if it is fair for these animals when humans to keep breeding more of these intelligent, yet infantile, creatures to live in the endless cycle of dependence.
