If you look at what we consider "moral" today it differs vastly from what past societies did. The majority of people do not consider women chattel, other races as not human beings, or slavery as a good thing. (I was going to say torture, but our government thinks its just fine) We believe there are basic human rights, which was not the case at the time of the founding of Christianity. So, has morality evolved? If so, why? Also, does it go against the Bible, since these changes occured long after it was written.

Actually the Bible proves that morality has evolved. The Bible clearly shows that morality differs a lot nowadays from what it was in Biblical times. We don't let a raped girl marry her rapist anymore. Our morality evolved, and continues to do so.

Throughout history some people were treated different than others, even in laws. Laws are, of course, a reflection of our morality. More and more we start to treat all people as people, no matter how 'weird' some people may find others.

Everyone one has their own opinion on morality. Through history till now, we have on the most part been evolving morally but, sometimes I begin to wonder. The human race as a whole still has a long way to go. Still can't get passed killing eachother off because of our differences or the name of ones God.

I'd like to think so. I'm pretty sure part of our evolution includes an increase in thinking capabilities...our ability to view other humans as valuable, and not something to exploit.

It doesn't have to go against the Bible, but some people are stuck in a rut and have a hard time dealing with change.

Its an unresolvable question. Is there more sin today just because there are more people and we have better media to broadcast the bad news?
And how "evolved" is this world for people living in a war zone, extreme poverty and with no hope?

I'm not sure if 'evolved', is the right word, maybe bloomed, or matured would be better. I've read that faith is like a mustard seed, that grows. If you associate faith, with morality, your answer would be yes.

It has evolved... but not enough for me...

Religion can hold moral development stagnant in some cases.
