for the record, I do believe in God but have many questions. Some Christians automatically ridicule me or bash me for asking. I don't get some of you " LOVING " Christians?

It's probably not the question, but how you ask it.

Because Christians are taught to believe without question. If it is in the Bible then to them that makes it hard cold fact. I got tired of being a loving Christian who fed off the fears of others so I abandoned all of the foolishness

It's a two way street .
It depends on the question , if your willingly trying to hurt them or upset them in any way , I'd bash you too , ( Even though the bible says I shouldn't ) But there are christians out there who are just plain " not smart , about the bible "
remember this :
Always question your beleif , it's the only way you'll grow as a beleiver . Let no one tell you otherwise .

I am a very strong Christian, yet i have many doubts and questions as well. I think that you dont have to believe everything that the Bible says, the most important part of belief is that God and Jesus love you.
I dont understand those who get worked up over those who have doubts either.

Hon, God said, "Beware of those who come in My name". The sign of a true Christian is one who follows the word and the word says "Judge NOT". So if you encounter anyone telling you that they are Christian but doing unChristian things is not what/whom they claim to be. If you would like to email me, I'd be happy to discuss anything with you. I'm a student myself, still learning. And the only way to learn anything is by seeking. Seek and ye shall find. So my offer stands. However, it would be nice if you kept it civil as well. I'm not going to judge you, bash you or ridicule you for asking anything...but I'll defend myself if you start to attack me...fair enough?

The 'problem' with questioning is that you are not following blindly, and if you aren't following blindly then you may have a different understanding of scripture...and if you have a different understanding that means that one of you has a faulty understanding...and of course 'their' understanding cannot be fallible...so rather than search the scriptures and seek the face of the Lord, it is easier to attack the one that is questioning/searching.

John 5:39 says "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. "

Acts 17:11 has this to say "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. "

So question, search the scriptures, study to show thyself approved. Do not be concerned with what others think. They will not be standing with you on the day you stand before a Holy God.

Hope this helps.

They're just being big headed. That really bothers me. Those people should understand that they're giving all Christians a bad name when they insult people's views. If they really believed in Jesus, then they wouldn't discourage questioning. Keep asking questions.

Real Christians are, among other things, teachers who love questions. We love thinking people who ask anything they want to know.

As for the answers you get here, it may be the way you ask or it may be some of the answerers here apparently slobber battery acid with all questions, not just yours.

Ignorance is truly bliss in this matter - they're not losing that false comfort. Hence, they have automatic defense mechanisms to overrule or insult anything and anyone that shakes their faith's structure.

The same can be said for several other religions, not just Christianity.

You're not supposed to question Christians, their God, or their Faith unless you are willing to accept all three.

If you ask questions in a way that indicates you are asking for proof or facts you will at the very least get their pity or scorn, but you will never get what you are seeking.
