Get out and walk. Go swimming. Go jogging. Why do you have to do it at home? If you absolutely have to do it at home then jog in place. Do aerobic exercise. Get an exercise bicycle. Do sit-ups. Life weights. Look up exercise programs on the internet!
You are not that big. 5'9 is tall and you can carry your weight.

That would be "lose" weight (not 'loss). At your height, with a medium frame, your ideal weight range is 145 - 149 according to "Freedieting" http://www.freedieting.com/tools/ideal_body_weight.htm
Watch what you eat and cut out junk food and sodas. Make them an occasional treat, not a daily part of your diet. For exercise you can easily walk or jog and that takes no special equipment (except good sneakers). Try to work up to 1 hour of exercise 5 days a week.
Also there are sometimes exercise shows on TV you could work out with or tape and do later. Buy some aerobic or fitness videos or DVDs. Bicycle, dance, get a friend and play tennis or whatever activities are available in your area.

Call Jenny Craig they are offering a lose 20 pounds for $20.00. The food is good and costs about the same as it does in the store. Your counselor will help you lose the weight you need. I went from 346 in June of 2005 to 280 in January of 2006. That was 66 pounds in 7 months and I have kept it off too, by remembering the correct way to eat. I am pretty sure you will .

Its good to see that you have Motivation to start out with. Motivation is going to be your best friend when things get tough. you have to be motivated to make things work. a healthy diet is your 2nd priority. you need to eat healthy. its all a balancing act. if you eat unhealthy, you need to work out twice as hard. for an example, not that many people know this but Kobe Bryant likes to eat a hamburger right before his games. he can stay fit and look fit becuase he runs like crazy. but if you're not as healthy, you can't expect to down burgers and lose weight. eat vegies, consume a lot of protein (in the form of whey) and work out. work out 2-3 times a week doing mostly cardio. do that, and within 1 month you'll notice a change. dont expect major gains fast. fast weight loss is unhealthy, your body is not going to like it. your body is meant to be in balance and losing 5-7lbs a week is possible but might be unhealthy in most cases. find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

first of decide if you want to lose weight for yourself or for others. if its for others then dont worry about it because its if you're beautiful to yourself that matters.
if it is for yourself then go jogging and to the gym everyday if you dont see results DONT worry you're not gonna wake up and see a change...it takes time.
and of course eat right.
alot of vegetables, salads, fruits, etc are good.
and REMEMBER dont use any of that phony stuff they sell that tells you u can lose weight just because you use their pills.

turn dinner into a healthy lunch the next day by wrapping your lean leftovers in a whole wheat wrap add a little dijon mustard or curry powder for added flavor
