What I was told I was hired for was this-

To work inside at the air-conditioned resturant for what ever days and hrs they would like.I am fully able to do this.I am mainly upset by the fact that I was never told I would be working these events, and when I was finally told that I was working this one I was told that it is at another Plantation (I work at the Myrtles Plantation in Losuisiana). So assumeing that it was at another plantation I figured inside.

you might have hyperhidrosis. it's a disorder where a person sweats excessively and can be due to a number of things such as hormonal problems, menopause or stress. it's difficult to treat permanently, however there are some prescription antiperspirants that can help... although, it's not guaranteed. It's a very difficult thing to treat and prevention is better than cure so just do your best to stay out of the sun, wear black or white shirts and just try to stay cool.

There are a couple of things to consider. You have certain rights. You have the right to work in a reasonably comfortable environment. If catering outside is part of the job, then appropriate measures need to be taken for your safety and well being. That is required by law.

The next thing to consider is what is meant by appropriate means to make you comfortable. The job's natural environment determines that requirement. For example, work in a steel plant and work in a computer tech's lab are very different environments. You cannot expect them to be the same. You cannot expect the employer to change the laws of physics and chemistry. You have the right to know the conditions under which you will work. But that's as far as it goes. Only reasonable means are expected. Put another way, an employer cannot be expected to spend so much that he will go out of business within hours just paying for your comfort. All he has to do is put forth reasonable effort.
There is still another side. The law protects against discrimination due to handicap. If a job is naturally requiring an able bodied person, then a person with a handicap can be refused the job. No farmer will ever be required to hire a person with no arms. The nature of the work demands good arms. Physically weak individuals will also be excluded. The nature of the work demands a normal amount of strength.

One, you have the right to know the conditions of your work environment. Two, you have the right to reasonable comfort. Three, your employer has the right to employees who are capable of working in a normal working environment.

It would seem on the surface that you should have a talk with your employer about your expectations. Your boss has a right to know what you expect. If you cannot agree on the terms of the job, then you have a right to work someplace else.

You ran out of room before you actually got to your question, or part of your question. First see a Dr to find out why you overheat so easily. Second drink a lot of water, prior to, during, and after exposure to the heat. I realize you didn't know what was coming up in the story above. Third, find a job where you are not subjected to the heat or insensitive comments from your loser manager.

well, your setails were cut off after the drinking lots of water part......... but my advice is to get another job, in an air conditioned building. You can still work in food service, but there are other jobs also that will keep you indoors. Your health comes first.
