...DO you feel because you're not serving god, that somehow you are relinquished from all your sinful acts? Did you begin to serve God because you realize he is the truth, or because some convinced you? or you wanted a miracle? or something to believe in? when you had no-body?
I'm a christian/Buddhist/me.

So you're all saying you're still sinfun, look at logic. Since you're serving someone perfect, won't he always expect perfection? If you're sinning, why does he even need you? It seems like you NEED him, more than he needs you right? So basically when you try not to sin, you're just taking away from you, an experience that you enjoy....God wants us all happy, so i mean, if sinning makes you happy, god wants that.

GODCR8DYOU..that was soo sweet. I just wanted to prove my point, a society was less sinful individuals would most likely not turn to God. Introduce god to a poverty stricken environment, with lots of sinners, and they hear of eternal life, and forgiveness.....they will TURN to him in a heart-beat. BUT still sin!! so whats the pont!!!!!

What up peep,
Listen, teh sooner you get away from all that religious wack ****, the sooner you can live a clearer, more fullfilled life. You need to life life fr you, and not anybody else - except those you help and care for. But, as far as religion goes - that's an alterior motive to help others because you are not doing it for them - you are doing it for some mystical made-up being that sits on a cloud. Which is sickening.
Peace out.

Yes, I consider that I led a very sinful life before turning to God. I did not turn to God because someone else convinced me. I turned to God because I needed forgiveness for that life. I wasn't sure in the beginning if I believed in Him or if He heard me or not. But some time within that first year of trying, He introduced Himself to me, so yes, I became a believer because I realized He IS the truth. And because He showed me that He forgave me when I absolutely could not forgive myself.
Did I want a miracle? No! I didn't believe miracles happen to people like me, if they still happened at all. I thought God abandoned doing miracles by the second century except for a few select, golden "lucky" ones. (Now, I know differently! He does miracles all of the time. And life itself is a miracle!)
Do I think all my sins are erased? No, of course not! I still remember them. All that He promised is the PENALTY for them would be erased, and that I would be forgiven for them. I still am responsible for my life after that, including whether or not I still sin as a believer. It's just that now God and His son, and the angels have promised to help me learn not to sin, if I will actually ask Him for the help, and then receive the help when it's given. But my life is still up to me.

Are you nuts? All believers still sin. Everyone of us. The only thing that makes us righteous is the blood of Jesus Christ. Through Him, we are pure in the eyes of God. No matter what we've done in our past, and no matter what we will do in our future. Because we accepted the gift of Christ, we are free from sin. Does it mean we can go out and do stuff with reckless abandon? By no means. And as for you being a Christian and a Buddhist? No man can serve two masters.

Everyone leads a very sinful life before turning to God. I came to God when I realized I needed Him. It was a culmination of a lot of those things you mentioned, but ultimately I realized I needed a Savior and that Jesus was that Savior. All my past, present , and future sins were paid for by His blood. His resurrection empowers me with eternal life. It didn't abolish a lot of the consequences for my sins, but it did give me eternal life. God still requires my repentance for any sins I commit now and He takes some of my peace away until I make it right with Him through prayer and confession. It's a wonderful relationship where I am assured I'm safe in Christ, and do not need to fear coming to God with anything.

Sin why it cant be real
The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.
If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't perfect.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.
First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.
How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work 100 percent of the time?
It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.
One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.
Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.
If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.
If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.
How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.
Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.
If this is the case and we are perfect creations of a perfect God then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.
How likely is that????
Think about it.

I led a very sinful life before becoming a Christian. God took me by surprise and intervened unexpectedly and without notification. I just fell head over heels in love with Him and my life changed dramatically. I believe that my sins were washed away as I repented of them and that I am in a state of constant regeneration through Jesus Christ. Incidentally, you cannot be a Christian and a buddhist.

Yes, my sinful ways ARE erased now.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Romans 3:25 God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

I still live a sinful life and have to repent often. It is only through the precious blood of Jesus that I am righteous. Without Him I am nothing.

Sinful? When I was young I was a bit wild. As an adult, I am faithful to my husband, I have raised a wonderful daughter, I give regularly to UNICEF, I volunteer as an ESL tutor in my community, I don't lie, cheat or steal, I don't covet my neighbor's husband, I am kind to animals and to strangers. God has nothing to do with my choice to lead a good and moral life. why do you assume that it takes God to be a good person?
