If one look at the Pre-Christian era of ancient Europe or perhaps the world everyone had a believe in Reincarnation, the Abraham religions which arrived much later destoryed these beliefs and instilled a God fearing society with Heaven/Hell concept to rule over them.

My stance is Reincarnation is a fact, i do not believe in it but i'm aware that it is a fact where everyone has to go through, people want to believe that there is a heaven for them to meet their loved ones once they depart, this make belief ideolgy is deep rooted among the materialist people who fear death and once to be saved by any means.

Me too. But there is a state between incarnations that does resemble the christian heaven in some ways. The judgmental God idea is pure fantasy though.

Reincarnation is a belief not a fact. I think once around is enough and why should I be punished for something I know nothing of that was done functionally by someone else in another lifetime?

I believe that we are reincarnated to fulfill our dreams and duty as a person. Then when they are accomplished thats when someones soul goes to some sort of heaven or hell.

Yes, very much so.

I support the Buddhist beliefs of reincarnation, until divine fulfillment is attained and the soul is finally "polished".

The soul is reincarnated many times until it attains enlightenment, or is "polished". In between lifetimes, your soul resides in the Summerlands to reflect on the lessons learned in the lifetime one just had.

it was not only abraham's religion that destroyed the reincarnation myth. even before there was the reincarnation myth, there're faiths which denounced it.

i think people believe in reincarnation just to feel better about themselves. i always hear people saying " i was a princess in the past life" or "my family were high in society and wealthy in the past". i never heard anyone saying "i was a trash man in the past life" or "i was homeless in the past". oh come.

its all to boost some one's confidence

I always have, but for me it is fact, not merely just an "ego booster" as Sunflower so ignorantly stated.
