He rose from the dead after three days. He KNEW he wasn't going to stay dead.

This is like saying Bill Gates made a huge sacrafice giving away all his money...while knowing that in three days he was going to get all his money back.

Everyone seems to be missing the point of the question.

Why was this any kind of sacrafice? Jesus lost NOTHING. He rose again from the dead. Not only that but he KNEW he was going to rise from the dead.

It's not much of a sacrafice when you KNOW you are going to get back what you gave up.

First of all, you can not compare Christ to Bill Gates of anyother human. Jesus died for our eternal salvation. He died for our sins, and rose agian from the dead to prove to us that we will have eternal life with Christ in heaven if we believe and confess our sins. Jesus died for our sins. He did not sin, he was the only perfect being that ever walked this earth, it is a big sacrifice because he is the only person that did not deserve to die for sinning. His ressurection just instilled the hope and faith to make us believe.

nicely i'm hoping u are not getting rude solutions lower back. i think of the sacrifice difficulty is with the aid of the fact there are 3 components to God - the father, jesus and the holy spirit. he (all 3 components, the trinity) existed earlier jesus' time, so he relatively did not die to alter into god, he died because of the fact he sacrificed the SON area of the trinity as cost for the sins that guy were area of ever because of the fact the backyard of eden. i think of yet one extra reason human beings say what u stated, "yet jesus sacrificed himself for you" is with the aid of the fact he did any such great form of miracles that he would have escaped from dying on the pass yet he chosen to not. his miracles have been incredibly marvelous and makes for a great examine in the books of matthew with the aid of john in the bible. i actually wish u discover what u r searching for, because of the fact this replaced into an incredibly sturdy question. asking questions is a competent thank you to be sure solutions, and there is no one who can fault u for that. I even have seen some incredibly amazingly rude christians on line this evening, so because it incredibly is kinda why i'm being extra suitable apologetic approximately hoping no one is rude whilst they answer. jesus wasn't rude or sarcastic, they should not be the two.

First, you might ask Jesus about how little it was. Three times just before being arrested, he prayed to Jehovah for loopholes. Nobody jumps at the chance for torture and more torture to death. Over riding his good sense fear was his desire to do his Father's will and his love of humankind.

All his human life led up to this sacrifice. Prophecies pointing to him and what he would do are too many to mention and he had fulfilled them all. As the only perfect human since Adam, he was the only one who could, with his sacrifice, buy back mankind from Adam's original sin.

That is why it was a big deal.

He paid the penalty for sin.Your sin my sin. That is why it was such a big sacrifice. He took the whole of the sin of the world on His shoulders so that we could have a relationship with God.
He rose again on the third day so He could conquer the curse of death. So now He, Jesus is the name above every name.

It's not only the death but also the suffering He had to go through. Bill Gates ain't taking any personal suffering its only something external... but to get whipped and nailed on the cross and die of a very horrible kind is not something thats external but on His very skin. If you don't consider someone dying for you as a sacrifice I don't know what is. BTW He could have not died on the cross, and let us all burn in hell. But for His love for us, kept Him hung on the cross until everything in the bible was fulfilled.

The devil tempted Jesus. Saying things like, "If thou be the son of god, then command that these stones be made bread." And, "If thou be the son of god then throw yourself from this high place for it says that He will give His angels charge over thee lest ye dash your foot against a stone".

I am saying that jesus was a man with like passions as any man and He to was tempted. (yet sinless)

Before going to the cross, He was praying in the garden of Gethsamane begging God that he might not have to go to the cross. His sweat was as great drops of blood. (It is a fact that during tremendous agony blood will seep through our pores) But he resisted his own weakness as a man and submitted himself to the will of God the Father. It was a sacrafice.

I have thought of your question before myself, but just this little answer kinda points me in the right direction. Also, I am sure that we just don't understand some of the sacrafices He did through all of this. But one day in Heaven we might understand just how dreadful it really was.

He did not only suffer phisically, but he also descended to the uttermost reaches of hell and payed a price that no one has or shall ever payed. He did not know that he was going to come back from the dead, he just trusted blindly in God. Satan thought that Hell could contain Jesus, but unfortunatly for him, Jesus destroyed the Powers of hell

His sacrifice was the suffering for the sins of man.

His resurrection is our promise of life eternal through him.
