The book of Revelation is a masterpiece painted by John the Beloved that reveals the causes and effects of human nature. As with any masterpiece, the artistic expression and medium used by the painter is unique, and can only be understood completely by the artist himself.
...
John the Beloved wrote Revelation in the early part of the 4th Century. By then, he had witnessed human nature from a perspective that could only be drawn from many years of experience living among the different peoples of the earth.
Only two means of proof would satisfy both skeptics and believers...one is for a complete and comprehensive explanation to be given of the masterpiece he penned, which is precisely what transpired to produce the book below.
How else could it be possible to unfold the mysteries of Revelations, since only John knows why he wrote what he did? Only he knows what each metaphor and figurative expression represents.

I have read the bible way too many times to understand christians and I view the revelations part as a horror story to scare the nonbelievers and the more insecure christians into blindly following the christian church.
The writers knew one day that our govt would want to keep a record of everyone who lived and they also knew how annoying and narrowminded christians were so they made up the story of the Mark of the Beast so that people would become more scared that the end was near and become followers of christ through blind fear and force others to convert the same way.
notice they are the only religion that will physically follow/stalk someone threatening/wishing them to be set on fire for drinking alcohol, wearing tattoes, red lipstick or being gothic
I am looking towards the hillbilly southern baptist more than the others b/c I hear about fire and brimstone on a daily basis.

Because the Book of Revelations was written in the First Century as a response to the political oppression of Christianity by the Roman Empire. Everything in that book is either a reference to the Old Testament, or a reference to the Roman Empire, or both. The Great Beast was Emperor Nero -- whose name adds up to 666 in either Greek or Hebrew numerology. So, it was a First Century book, written to a First Century audience about First Century problems. An understanding of Revelations requires an understanding of the Old Testament, and an understanding of the History of the Early Church and its relationship to Rome.

My freind, ask yourself how do you read the book of revelation? It is symbolic, not to be interpreted litterally. Babylon my symbolize Russia, the US, anything. Internet may be what the bible calls the Beast 6 6 6 because in gematria(an ancient system of attributing numbers to letter W=6 thus WWW=6 6 6 or 18(depends if you add the letters up or not. The seal in the forhead and in the hand that the antichrist is to place in his followers may be interpreted as a computer chip, who knows?

You can find elements of a nuclear war in it.
The poisoning of the waters (Revelation 8:11), the severe reduction in visibility (Revelation 8:12), the death of much of the earth's vegetation (Revelation 8:7), malignant sores (Revelation 16:2), the end of ocean life (Revelation 16:3), and the inability of the atmosphere to block out harmful ultraviolet rays, resulting in severe burns (Revelation 16:8) are all expected results of nuclear war.
You'll find passages concerning the burying of the dead in Ezekiel chapter 39.

The book of Revelation wasn't written to show technological progression, it was written to show Man's future history so that we would not only know what was coming, but we would have signs to watch for.
We see the world today, and those who don't know Scripture are frightened and have no clue as to what is coming. Those who are awake and aware know exactly what is going on and are (hopefullly) trying to educate unbelievers as to what is coming.
The book of Revelation is also meant as a sign in itself, in that when unbelievers see the things written there happening before their eyes and understand that John wrote of these things nearly 2,000 years ago, they may come to believe in God.

How would first century John have been able to explain any of it? Although it was God's thoughts, a man had to explain it to write it. Like secretaries do today. Most of us could not write a simple sentence for pay. Secretaries take our mush and put it into proper english. Back then, they wrote what they knew. How could he have explained one of the heads of the beasts was the Anglo-American world power when neither country was known back then?

ON..... my 360 / Blog there is an Article.... HOW TO STUDY THE BIBLE! Perhaps you could read it... and Apply some of the Principles?
Then.....PERHAPS.... You need to Correct your THINKING?
The Bible.... IS NOT A BOOK ..... OF EVERY THING THAT MAN CREATES!
NOR.... is it a Book of Answers!
IT... does show GOD... and how HE has worked in the PAST... and the Present.... and the Future!
WHY DID YOU NOT ASK ABOUT..... Airplanes.... or.... Computers?
HAVE YOU..... Ever Studied.... QUANTUM PHYSICS?
Try it..... and then You will... UNDERSTAND.... even less than you do NOW! [Not A Slam - DISCLAIMER!]
Thanks, RR

Maybe it does...but John would have had no words to explain them.
But actually, it's the spirtual account of the end of the world...it's about what is going on in heaven, it's the supernatural scene...not the the earthly scene.
