To Bare = to expose
To Bear = to carry

Dates are usually dried after picking. You can use them in cooking (my aunt used to make some great date cookies)--just google date recipes, and you'll get more than you ever dreamed possible. I have seen date palms growing in Phoenix, dripping their ripe dates into parking lots, etc, and when that happens they become messy and attract insects, which you probably won't like.

If they're baring their fruit, you ought to dress them. It isn't nice for a date to be naked in public. However, if they're bearing fruit, the best thing you can do is eat it.
