When the Lord looks at me He does not see that I am a girl, that I am white or any other chacteristics. What He does see is if I am covered by the blood of His son. I did not receive His blood at my confession. I received Eternal life, "however" my daily walk with the Lord in "obedience" to His Word is what ensures my salvation and covers me with His blood.

Yes.

"I'll cover that " is a modern-enough expression for paying a bill or a debt.

And the whole of the Old Testament repeats the message that some debts involve sacrifice of life, of blood.
Abraham and Isaac, the death of the first-born as the last plague of Egypt, with the Israelites excepted by the blood on their doorposts...

So, Jesus sacrificial death "pays for" the sins of those who accept it applies to them. Who come under its umbrella, if you'd like a different usage of "covered".

When you ask Jesus to come into your life, the blood that he shed on the cross for our sins covers and forgives your sins. When you live your life according to his teachings you are covered by the blood of Jesus. Read the book of Luke in the Bible about the story of Jesus and his teachings. It is very interesting.

(Rev 12:11) And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. And they did not love their soul until death.

For those that Really.... Know JESUS... this is their TESTIMONY!

Also....

(1John 1:7) But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son = = = CLEANSES = = = us from all sin.

In the NT Greek.... the word translated "CLEANSES" actually reads...... " KEEPS ON CLEANSING....!"

Like a Water Fall..... The Blood of JESUS.... is a Continual Cleansing... for the Real Child of GOD!

Hope that Helps? There are More References... write me for More?

Thanks, RR

Jesus died for us and we must rely on the all-sufficient merits of His death as the Passover Lamb whose blood drove away the Angel of Death. Jesus sacrifice is our ransom, cleansing and salvation. We are to be covered completely and purged of all ill by His Grace.

Worshipers of Mithras used to be baptized by covering themselves in the blood of a bull.

Christians borrowed a lot of terminology from the Mithras cult.

Blood of the lamb, blood of the bull.

It's all primitive nonsense no matter how you look at it.

It means that you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior. It means that you have repented from your sins and turned from them.

well, his blood was used for the remission of people's sins...so when you sin, you're obviously covered with the guy's blood.
