in the oven at 350 degrees about an hour to and hour and a half or if you prefer to use a microwave 5 to 6 minutes. Of course you may have to adjust the cooking time for the size of the potato. The larger the potato the longer the cooking time.

Here is a old-timey method to cooking baked potatoes that ARE done, but don't require an all night to cook. Go to your local hardware store are purchase four to six 6" roofing nails, or any other thick nail at least 6" long. Go home and wash them WELL with hot soapy water, rinse them, dunk them for three minutes in boiling water, and then, when you need them insert one nail through the center of each potato, length-wise, and cook at 425 for 40 minutes. They should be perfectly cooked. Let them cool for a couple minutes and then with an oven mitt in/on each hand, grasp the potato, pull out the nail, and VOILA!

a nice big spud will take just over an hour in a fan oven...prick all over with a fork and rub with a little oil...then bake! microwave is a lot quicker but the skin goes soggy...and its kinda not the same is it..a microwaved potatoe is not a baked one. oven temp 200 centigrade....

it depends on how big your potatoes are.. for small about 30 minutes, medium about 45-50 minutes, and larger 50 -60 minutes if baking in oven at 350-400 degress.. if on grill then about an hour and half..

Fan oven, about 1 hour. Microwave about 10 mins. Try doing them in the microwave for 8 mins, then putting them in the oven for 20 mins to get crispy.

It depends on what you are cooking them in. My microwave takes about 12 minutes, my fan assisted oven at top heat takes 30 mins.
