I think it's an awesome idea! Why shouldn't there be a college fund for caucasians only? Every other ethnicity/race has one.
However, I predict many people will immediately scream racism. If you are answering this question and you think this is racist, then you need to explain to the rest of us why.

Wouldn't that be just as bad as the UNCF? I'm black, and I have no love at all for minority scholarships, especially if they're handed out the way the UNCF hands out theirs.
Believe me when I say there are plenty of black students that " work hard in school and make the grade and have the drive to do better for themselves and just need help with going to college", but certainly aren't helped out by the UNCF. If someone were to make a United White College Fund, I couldn't help but see it as racist. The same way I see The United ***** College Fund.
If you want to help students go to college, help students go to college. Not Black Student only, or white students only, or hispanic students only. That's all a lot of bull, and the US won't be going very far if people can't start seeing people first and race last.

As a black student in grad school I have since undergrad been very critical of the UNCF which offers scholarships to african-american students ONLY if they attend an HBCU, historically black college/university. This practice henders a lot of black students from recieving aid so therefore I believe that you should do some research before criticizing something and calling it a double standard. The second issue would be that a UWCF would allow students to go to the majority of colleges in the US unlike the UNCF. Furthermore, as a black student out of all the financial aid I received in undergrad and grad NONE of it was ethnically tied. Some of it, however, was based on income...this as you can see from the examples of universities such as Emory, Harvard, and as of late U of Chicago is becoming the new standard. It is aimed at helping those who cannot afford college no matter their race. As many of you may know these are scholarships given to students admitted to these universities who are between certain economic brackets. It is time out for separation, if we continue to think in this fashion we may as well reverse the Supreme Court's Brown v. Board of Education decision and go back to segragation. I understand and feel strongly that everyone in this country regardless of their ethnicity should be offered the same chances and advantages towards obtaining a higher education. Instead of making it a larger issue of race, why not think of declaring scholarships that afford all students aid who are in need.

There's plenty of educational scholarships out there you can get... you just have to look for them.
Generally, "minorities" make up a higher percentage of poorer income brackets so they give more scholarships to them based on that. You have to consider the fact that for ever one of those you see and say "minorities are getting way too much help" there's tons of them who aren't getting the scholarships.
It's true that they need to patch the scholarships to account for reverse descrimination, but anytime you're talking about White College funds or whatever, it's kind of touchy because the majority of those kind of groups have been KKK etc...
Why don't we have United Scottish Funds or United Jewish Funds or Russian or German etc...? White is not a uniform race, but we're made to think it is because it's the official color of the empowered.

GREAT idea but unfortunately, it can't be done. There is an unfortunate double standard in the country...has been for awhile. If this college fund were to be started Jesse Jackson would be all over it like stink on a monkey! I'm not racist by any stretch of the imagination, but I do think that ALL should have the opportunity to go to college, no matter what their race is.

None of these things would happen because you guys don't need most of this stuff because you are on top, and make up most of the "higher" class. I'm not racist either, i just look at many things about how different races are treated, and well whites seem to be treated better in this country. I'm black deal with being thought as a thug, gangster, speaks improper English, poor, uneducated, into drugs, trouble maker, loud, and rude based of being black. I don't fit into any of that stuff.

you can but if you do anything specificly for whites people will automaticly say "racism." But i dont understand how its racism. Every other ethnicity has the same thing so shouldnt that be "racism" if whites do the same thing? if everyone wants to have racial equality then they should stop argueing about petty things such as a white college fund. and under the constitution you have the right to do thi if someone dosent like the idea they can make their own college fund.

I think that would be a great idea. Everyone, regardless of race should be able to receive academic scholarships based on need. And, YES I am African American. And, No I do not see this as a racist act. Just an act to ensure that those who need to be supported are!
Good Luck!

Better idea, why not have a united college fund for everybody who wants to go to college or university? That way, funds can be given to people based on skill and suitability, not on skin colour. It's amazing how politicians quake from head to toe when someone says 'you are a racist', because they assume that the accuser means 'you don't like black people'. Yet they are allowing this racism to continue the other way round. These days, not being racist means being racist in the 'opposite' way, so whenever someone asks me if I'm racist, I say 'I'm neutral.'

ya im sure someone could but they would be trashed as being racist, we had a disscussion in school and some of the kids in there said that they know their race would trash "whites" if we made a college fund for ourselves, and they said it wouldnt and isnt fair but it would happen. personally i think someone should make a college fund for the lower income people becuase its a circle for them cause they won't really ever have the money to go cause their isnt a fund out there for them. I say someone should go for it and try it.
