You can wait until the 8 weeks, 1 of my vets charge me $56 for check the pup and put the shots, and my other one gave me a puppy package: 4 rounds of puppy shots, de-worming(in case of needed) 3 stool exam, rabies, first heartworm prevention, and vet visit for $130, you should ask in the vet office if they have a package like this, it a whole lot more cheaper.

She should NOT have ANY vaccinations before she is 8 weeks old.
Vaccinations should be given as follows:
8-9 weeks distemper/parvo/canine hepatitis/adenovirus-2
12 -14 weeks repeat
16- 18 weeks third and final
20 weeks or older rabies
Then no more vaccinations for a year..after that vaccinatinos every 3 years
Lepto, lymes, parainfluenza and bordatella (kennel cough) should not be given to every dog only those that are at high risk of exposure
coronavirus, adenovirus-2 and giardia should NOT be given to ANY dog.
The above is the current protocol for AAHA/AVMA and all 27 vet schools
Go to dr jean Dodds or Dr Ron Schultz site for more info also check out the november 2006 vaccine article in the Whole Dog Journal

First of all if you purchased the pup from a reputable breeder they should have given her her first set of shots and de--wormer. You need to find a local vet and most will have a "puppy package" which will include IE; series of shots, checking for common puppy disease, (diarrhea can kill a puppy if not taken care of)and some when time comes if you choose, cost of her being spade . Most start around $200. And yes you should do this right away. Also if you plan on having her ears and or tail cropped it must be done by a vet, to do it yourself is not only cruel but ILLEGAL. Enjoy her, they make great companions

schnauzers are neat dogs. i had a welsh terrier that looked like a schnauzer but in brown tones.
"puppies vaccinated before 9 weeks of age should be revaccinated at 3 to 4 week intervals until 14 to 16 weeks of age" (quote from the vaccine box)
My dogs all got their first shots before 8 weeks of age from their breeders.
I then gave them the boosters every 4 weeks till they were 16 weeks old. The vaccine mfg says to give boosters annually.
In addition, you have to worm puppies every month for several months as they tend to get worms. I use D-Worm chewables and don't have to have a vet do this for me.
Make sure you find out if any shots were given before you got your pup.
I think I pay about $3.50 per dosage, and I give my own as they are easy to do. Saves me the cost of a vet visit. Vet visits vary a lot in cost. My vet is really low charger in this area and atrracts a lot of us farmers. He only charges for the shot and probably would charge me about $6 to $8 to see the pup & give the shot. Most vets charge for a visit as well and some are pretty expensive, so call and get a quote from your local vets.
I was told the bordatella is given as two shots at around 6 months of age with annual boosters, by the way.... not every month with the others.
Looking at Bluemysti's answer is scary! That cost is amazing, and those vaccinations don't all need to be done as separate single vaccines.
Slojec 7 includes:
Canine Distemper
Canine Parainfluenza
Canine Hepatitis
Canine Parvovirus
Leptospira canicola & icterohaemorrhagiae
Canine Adenovirus type 1 & type 2
Bordatella (kennel cough) is a separate vaccination.
Rabies is separate and must be given by a vet about 6 mo
worming meds are separte and needed mainly as a puppy.

It all depends on where you live. Demographics play all an important part of price in the U.S. Some veterinarians charge $10.00 a shot, others $25.00. Here in Connecticut, the average short for distemper is $20.00, but then we have Lyme Disease and West Nile Virus . . . . . I would guesstimate $20.00 for each injection. You could shop around and try to find a clinic for dogs and cats that charge less, I did and it helped with my three golden retrievers. It isn't cheap and can be quite expensive having animals, but the alternative is disastrous, so it is worth it!

Your Miniature Schnauzer will need her shots before she gets 7 weeks old, then she will need them again in 2 weeks and 2 weeks after that one. After those 3 sets of shots, you will need to get her vaccinated every 12 months and don't forget to worm her until she is 16 weeks old and then again every 6 months! Average price for 1 set of shots is $30 and the worming medication will vary with brands. With regards to fleas and ticks, go with Frontline and use it every month. Price is only around $40-$50.

On Average, puppies get their first set of shots at 8 weeks old. They get 3 series of shots. The prices vary from vet to vet. This is what I paid at my vet just for the shots. There is also the cost of a fecal exam(to check for worms), Supply of Interceptor or Health Check.
8 weeks:
Distemper - 24.50
Parvovirus/Corona Vaccine - 24.50
Bordatella - 23.00
13 Weeks:

Parvovirus/Corona Vaccine - 24.50
Bordatella - 23.00
17 weeks:
Distemper - 24.50
Parvovirus/Corona Vaccine - 24.50
Bordatella - 23.00
Rabies: - 24.50
Lyme Vaccine - 28.00

puppies should start getting parvo shots around 6 weeks old at least there first set of shots, then at 9 weeks old they get there second shot of the exact same shot and then the third shot at 12 weeks old. and when they hit 12 weeks old you can give them your rabies shot. and on the cost it normally depends it is cheaper to do them your self you can get them and cals ranch or IFA. they are 5$ a shots but you cant get your rabies there and a vet the parvo shot cost like 30$ each time so its alot easier to do it your self
hope i helped and good luck,

at 6 weeks,, she should still be with her mom and litter mates for proper socializing.... the Reputable breeder would have already wormed her and administered her first shots... are you sure they didn't already? you would have recieved this info with your puppy packet from your reputable breeder.. if you bought a petstore/puppymill/BYB pup,, i am not sure of what to advise you.
