When my partner walks, its seems as though he is walking like he is drunk.

He has had his ears syringed, we have burnt an Hopi candle in the ear.. and nothing.

I thought it could be vertigo, but he says the floor or the surrondings are not spinning.

He has no pain in the legs at all, or in the hips.

He has to hold on to the walls as he walks.

Anyone know what it could be?

I had somethin glike this last year. I went to the doc thinking it was an ear infection but he couldnt see anything. He told me though, that we do have tiny little crystals in our inner ear and that if one of those were to become dislodged, it could cause vertigo-like symptoms. They put me on antivert and another med I cant remember what the second med was though. But I had symptoms just like your partner has, with pain no where in my body.

Could be many different things and differential diagnosis could be bad, i suggest you see a doctor and get a proper examination. How long has he had the problem for? Sounds like he has got some kind of disturbance of his "inner ear", no amount of syringing will help that, has he got a cold, or just had the flu? Is he febrile? If so it could certainly be labyrinthitis. But as i said, could be something else, balance is controlled by part of the brain, should probably get a medical opinion

Something is going on in his inner ear, the mechanism responsible for balance. It may well be an asyptomatic infection, it needs a Medical assessment and treatment before he injures himself!

Could be an injury to his back/neck, this should be checked out by the doctor who will be much more informed of what to look for.

This could be a number of things, he could have problems with his toes, ears etc etc etc.

Defo get him to the doctor

See a doctor. An inner ear infection could cause imbalance....and he would need medication for that. There could be other, more serious, causes. Tell him to make an appt.!
