I know this is such an ordinary question, but i reeeeally need help. I asked for a trim yesterday, and my hair used to be down my back now it is at my shoulders. My hairdresser completely sucks I had been growing my hair for like 4 years since the last time I had an experience like this. I really don't want to wait 4 years for long hair again!!! Is there any tips that can help me grow an inch in a month? (i know usually its just half an inch) And does trimming your hair really work, since your hair grows from your roots? please help me! PS: don't go to rob roys in massachusetts they all suck =P !!!

I'm so sorry about your experience. There is nothing that will speed up the growth of healthy hair. If you have one of the rare illnesses that affect the growth of hair, some vitamins can be of help in stimulating new growth. I believe it will still be the usual half inch a month, though.

When you asked if trimming really helps, you are right to mention that hair does grow from the roots. So, if I am right, you are asking if trimming the ends of hair will cause hair to grow faster? If so, the answer is no. When hair has had blower drying, curling irons on it, chemical processing etc., it becomes damaged, and you get split ends. If you have a lot of split ends, your hair won't seem to grow because it's breaking off, thus shortening the length of your hair. So, if your hair is like that, trimming it will cut off the split ends before they break off, and that will make it look like trimming it made it grow longer. It will also look thicker.

Before your next trim, go look at some salons. When you find one you like, go and talk to the hairdressers there. Explain your prior experience to them, and ask if they have someone to work with you so it won't happen again. You might want to learn about using hair pieces to make your hair look longer until it is long again.

There are ways to make your hair grow faster. Try this: take a small spray bottle and fill it with water. Add a few drops of ylang ylang oil and rosemary oil and shake it all together. Spray close to your scalp and massage your scalp. This is one way. You can get the essential oils from a health food store or someplace like Whole Foods Market. This worked for me and my son.
