James 4:7-10
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Besides that, Christianity is good for your memory when properly practised, as there is no hypnotism involved in it. A lot of people seem to sleep walk through life so as to "avoid the pain." It comes back at them, but they just complain that they are being picked on by somebody. The fact is that there is massive injustice in the world. Amos 1 puts it this way. "This is what the Lord says: "For three sins of Tyre, even for four, I will not turn back my wrath. Because she sold whole communities of captives to Edom, disregarding a treaty of brotherhood, I will send fire upon the walls of Tyre that will consume her fortresses." This is what the Lord says: "For three sins of Edom, even for four, I will not turn back my wrath. Because he pursued his brother with a sword, stifling all compassion, because his anger raged continually and his fury flamed unchecked."" So with knowledge that these things can be dealt with in life comes extra emotional freedom. However, Christians are supposed to crucify the passions (pathema - inner afflictions and sufferings) and desires (epithumia - turning about sudden periods of rage or passion that are maddening like wine) with Christ - Galatians 5:24.

As for the strange Holy Spirit jibberish, I don't think that's genuine.

Most people who make marked progress in their lives - especially, great SPIRITUAL PROGRESS, the adversary [Satan] makes sure he gets in there to really do his best to stir things up, and make your life seem unbearable - even harder than it was while he had you in his little stable of the 'Blindly-led'.
As Jesus said of those who were not spiritually enlightened:

"All ye, like sheep, have gone astray, each to his own way!"

The Adversary really challenges new converts.
They are his main project!

You prove yourself, and in time, he will go try other easier 'pastures'! ... or you could simply follow the course of the Master and command:
"Get thee behind me Satan."
