plain chicken and rice is fine for pups....just dont add other things like spices, butter, sauce etc... and make sure theres no bones in it.

isnt enough by itself though. he wont get all the nutrients he needs from this - he still needs to be fed a good dry puppy food daily, along with the chicken and rice.

Rice and chicken is a diet he should only be having if he's got diarrhoea or been vomiting. It is a bland diet. You can feed him chicken and rice occasionally of course, but he needs to be on proper dogfood as well.

The dog should be on puppy food, preferably a high quality (i.e. nothing from a supermarket, athough Iams is good and that's now available in supermarkets) No Caesar, Pedigree Chum or Bakers!

Dogs need a variety of different nutrients that a rice and chicken diet do not provide. Get him on a proper puppy food.

Put him on chicken and white rice ONLY for 1 week or until symptoms have been totally cleared for 3 days. When his poop is totally normal again, slowly begin mixing the Wellness kibble into the chicken and rice mixture. Do it very gradually, it should take 5-7 days at least before the food is totally kibble again. It does take a while for some dogs, but he'll come around. Don't give him any more pedialyte, if he's eating and drinking he doesn't need it.

I would feed the puppy, puppy food, you only give chicken and rice to dogs if they have a upset tummy, your puppy should be on dried dog food by now, if you put a bit of water in the food to make it moist or add tinned food, but do not put alot in as you will upset it's stomach you should be feeding it three times a day

you can use a blend of plain rice, unseasoned chicken, and Puppy formula from a can and blend it in a food processor. This way he gets what he needs as a puppy. Also leave some puppy food wet or dry available at all times. Puppies need to eat often. This also helps from scarfing his food down and causing problems later. I have food available at all times for my dogs a Rott and an Akita mix which stay outside most of the time and have never had any weight issues or bolting their food down. They eat only when they want to and it usually is'nt much.

Boiled chicken and some grilled/boiled diced chicken breast is a good idea to feed your puppy once a week or when he has an upset stomach. I'm not sure if you have it in Germany, but Innova, California Natural, Eagle Pack, Canidae, Solid Gold and Wellness are all very healthy and natural dog foods.

Don't listen to other people saying that dogs should only eat dog food. That isn't true. You can feed your dog rice and chicken, but only small amounts now and then, like a treat. When I lived in Germany, you can get these cans of meat dog food from all vets. I can't remember what it is called but I know the cans come in different colours. The chicken was pink or something. They are very popular. Mention it to your vet and they might (might not) know what you are talking about.

This only depends on what breed he is. Is he a big breed> My dog is a labrador, so the advice above is for big dogs.

dry food is fine to feed I wouldn't moisten it no reason to for a 4 month old.
depending on the breed it should still be on 3 feedings a day.
chicken and rice is good but mix it in the dry food if you feed sseperately she may not eat the dog food which has the nutrition that she needs. I would just give it to her on occassin teh dry food is just fine.
