This is an interesting question. Among Christians it is a sin to lie or bear false witness to anyone. In Islam one is actually receiving blessings from God by lying to people outside of Islam. So yes, It is only followed by Judeo-Christians and is the opposite teaching in Islam.

The to commandments are a revelation of the character of God. As such, they apply to all people, because all are created in God's image, with remnants of true knowledge, righteousness and holiness.

Wispy, I hate to disagree with you yet it truly isn't fairly precise. What this Commandment means is which you're to no longer communicate approximately your neighbor falsely, asserting mean issues or pointing out untruth info. you're mixing apples with oranges. i do no longer understand in case you ask this question given which you're a Mormon, yet what Mormons have faith they suspect, in basic terms like different faiths have their very own very own ideals, and no one ought to communicate a falsely approximately everyone, which looks to take place plenty in this classification.
