Please tell me of some dane breeders in the UK (south preferably). No backyard breeders or puppymills they are cruel. please dont just say 'no sorry i don't know but you could go to a shelter' etc. because I really need to know of some reliable breeders. I cannot go to a shelter becaue I would like a puppy to train that has been in a proper environment and has been well socialized. Besides, what do you think will happen to the puppies if everyone goes to shelters? please help me.

Trust me, there will always be enough puppies to go around. If most people went to shelters, we would solve our homeless animal problem.
Seriously, just google "english great dane breeders". Why use Yahoo answers? Skip a step and use google.

All right, don't go on! There's not a chance in hell that everyone is going to go to shelters, but we do need to encourage more people to because at present, not nearly enough people are.
Anyway, I live in Kent and I'm a vet nurse, I know this great Dane breeder (like the pun there?!) who brings his puppies to us, they're fabulous. Very commendable. Here's his website, his phone number is right at the top:

http://www.dogclub.co.uk/dogs/profile-gtdn.php shows a lot of breeders in UK. Be sure that the breeder shows all dogs until they have gained a KC Championship title and most importantly tests them all for genetic diseases.
