Well, I scoop mine daily and then weekly I wash it out with lemon cleaner and put fresh litter in. Washing it out helps to keep it from smelling of urine and makes for a healthier environment for kitty.

If you have a poop scooper, you can scoop out the poop (obvious) everyday and you won't need to change the litter for around 3 days. It all depends how picky your cat is when it comes to her litter box.

Sorry, but this is a common sense question. Cat's are meticulous about their hygiene, and that directly affects their litter box, or toilet. Regardless of your kitty's size, check it every time you walk by, and at least 2x a day. They're actually walking over their own waste every time they enter the box. If you let it build up, eventually, they'll go outside of the box in defiance. I know from experience.

Scoop out waste every other day and thoroughly wash the whole box out at least once a month.

i Scoop the poop and pee muddle as soon has mine's done his business and change the whole litter twice a week, and clean the tray with anti-bacterial wipes after washing it, that kills any germs or bacteria that might want to linger around.

Every day you should clean it, by throwing the poo and pee lumps away, and if you clean it like that, you can change it every 2 weeks.

You should change it about once a week or so, or when it starts to get cluttered.
